Thanks for hosting the contest, Linc! Won myself a finished model and lots of wonderful ideas to glean from each of the selected winners. And by glean i mean blatantly steal and insert into my own toolbox. Can't wait for the next one.

Your entry is one of my favourites too LLP, so creative and different! It's something I'd like to see you continue to do, you have a gift with changing things yet retaining the essence of the design. Plus you won a beautifully finish new model AND an empty box that it was liberated from, well done!

Thanks for the words of encouragement, Linc-sensei. 🙇♂️ Iteration 2.0 is already in the works and just based on what you had to say about the winners, it’s definitely a step in the right direction. I like what I made. I fulfilled the concept I set out to achieve. But I’d say it’s very much treading the line of what would be considered MaK despite the callbacks I included in the design. To put it short, next one is hopefully more to answering the question “how would Yokoyama-sensei approach the same concept?”

First off, congrats to the winners! @2:00 What’s the name of that female figure in the white jump suit? I’d love to get it! I’ve seen her in a Kotobukiya custom build and fell for her (I know it sounds weird).
@PaintonPlasticbyLincolnWright5 жыл бұрын
thanks and I believe that figure is from Brickworks brand, not sure of the name...

Good choices. It would be nice to if you could post the links to the actual photographs since it's hard to see the details through a screen capture of a screen.

I'm sad I didn't finish mine! It's staring me down from the corner of my desk chanting "Finish me!"

What web store would you recommend buying these ma.k kits ? They are so hard to find here in Singapore, or they come with a hefty price 🙂
@PaintonPlasticbyLincolnWright5 жыл бұрын
Everything in Singapore comes with a hefty price, we lived there for a short time too but lovely place. ^^ Ami Ami or HLJ are not bad.

I'm so intimidated by the skill needed to make vehicles like this look believable. Im currently working on my first Imperial Knight and would like to have the skill to try one of these models. Just marveled how someone can make plastic and paint look so... metal-looking with the weathering too. My weathering just looks like a brush smushed some brown paint on random parts. Which is the thing that indeed happened. I tried to make the armor on my Imperial Knight look shiny, so I tried a varnish spray and it just dissolved the paint LMAO. I have a lot to learn

Yes I understand, I started with 40k a few years ago and was intimidated by many of these kits as well. Join us and please use my tutorials, hope they help!
