This video shows how the imaging experiments were set up by the AXES group of the University of Antwerp in het conservation studio of the Royal Museum of Fine Arts in Antwerp (KMSKA). The resulting elemental distribution maps supplied information on the buildup and painting technique, insights that proved valuable during the conservation treatment that was later performed in the Kunsthistorische Museum in Vienna.
