To make this experiment fair, they should do one where women meet a bunch of guys face to face but some men risk being broke/bad jobs. Women are superficial in different ways. Love is blind definitely placate to women, not men.

It is not superficial to choose a partner who has some level of financial stability, especially if you want children. To compare appearance to finances in terms of superficiality is disingenuous and foolish.
@Ceceee214 ай бұрын
Similar to how men don’t want women to be resentful of how they prioritize looks due to their biological conditioning, I think the same should be applicable in the sense that men should not feel resentful towards women for seeking protection and stability. From an evolutionary standpoint women’s very survival depended on being able to make the right decision in terms of who they chose to have children with. If you make the wrong choice, your life is at stake and your offspring, as when we are pregnant we’re slower, weaker, and more vulnerable.. So similar to how men struggle to overcome the biological predisposition to prioritize outwardly appearance, some women may also still have the priorities they have, regardless of being able to provide for themselves, due to that biological predisposition. I’m only using this rationale because it was brought up in the video. But if we are focusing on the show itself, from what I’ve seen a lot of the women had very well to do careers and lived in nice places. I recall last season Stacey even had her own house. A lot of women were willing to take the risk that who they ended up with may be different in terms of financial capabilities.. so logically I don’t think that comparison is applicable in this context. And it makes me a little disappointed that Alex agrees with your comment 🤒.

All female animals ( humans included) are programmed to want the “top” tier males. The others are rejected. It’s inbuilt in women and all females to only want to copulate/produce offspring with the fittest, most resourceful and resource-rich males. Choosing such males equates to survival of the offspring.

Women can actually see more shades of colors than men can. This is due to our hunter-gatherer days when women would pick bright berries and fruits, more so than men, which caused their color perception to widen. This was one of the pivotal ressons that led to the organisation of agriculture. Does that make women more visual or less? Appearance tells you a lot about people's health and genetics , so appearance often is important for women too, as if they do have the power they will only allow the man with the best genes to further his bloodline. Its just that...women only recently have attained the right to actively select their partners so they are largely relying on what is already tried and tested. Men on the other hand aren't necessarily visual, they are shallow. Not thinking beyond the first step. As a result of which many men either end up in expensive divorces or they end up cutting women down to a shell of herself bcz they didn't anticipate many strong qualities she might have that may threaten his ego. Its an absolute mess.

Most guys can’t even tell when a woman is wearing makeup or not, or wearing a wig, or if she has a run in her stocking etc etc . The simple things we pick up on visually men totally overlook 😂- Us women have been paying attention to looks and detail wayyyy more than men our entire lives . Most of us grow up reading Cosmo and editorial magazines from the time we’re kids while guys are playing video games lol. Us women are very visual creatures. And (shock horror) we also like good looking men and men who look put together and healthy. Some women fall for “ugly” dudes, but a lot of men fall for “ugly” women as well. Most of this shit being taught in our society is a total myth .

Men are 1000 % more superficial. I’ve dated men and women and one thing that truly scares me about dating a man is the worry that he will lose attraction due to seeing me without makeup often or not done up. These are things I’ve heard directly from men about their girlfriends. When dating women, we still see our partner as their most attractive self and fall deeper in love with their imperfections as we care more deeply about the person. I am sure there are exceptions to this rule on both sides but that has been overwhelmingly my experience. Most women also won't really fall in love if they don't find someone attractive or know how a guy looks. The guy has to have additional features for the women to put up with the man. Women don't hate that men are mainly visual, that's why womens fashion and beauty industry is huge and women can to some degree control their looks attract men. Women's main priority over looks is financial security, the man main job is being a provider so he should see who he is falling in love with.

I saw the 10 second clip a couple times but as there were so many faces, I didn’t see myself at all (though I intently rewatched the clip). 30 mins later, on the other side of the world a male friend i had not spoken to in a couple years called me and said “Hey, i just saw you on cnn at a such n such event in the audience. I was flabbergasted because the clip was all of 10 seconds and with all those faces he saw me, recognized me, and told me exactly what I had on! I was blown away. I even rewatched the clip but because (in my opinion) they scanned the many faces/crowd quickly I couldn’t see myself. Same clip. Same everything. It baffled me that with all the faces he was able to pick out that i was sitting in 3rd row, yet my eyes couldn’t pick me out of the crowd. I’ve other instances of males having better sight:

I do believe that men do care more about looks due to biological or evolutionary factors.. however, I just don’t see how that’s sustainable logically. Bc as a man if you don’t know how to regulate that and maintain control, then you will spend a lifetime chasing after things that may look beautiful, but be destructive for your mind, emotions, and soul. If men rely on that for most of their lives to be an indication of a suitable partner, then I just don’t see that being sustainable. It’s clear that in terms of fitness (and when I say fitness, I say the ability to keep making children), lasts longer for men.. and clearly as we get older we may not look as fertile and healthy as we did in our prime.. so if you don’t learn to regulate yourself as a man.. and your body psychologically wants you to keep trying to reproduce.. are you then going to allow looks to overcome love and stability you have found? Love may not be blind initially, but I don’t think that should be the foundation for the rest of your life if you want to be with someone long term. Idk, consciously I understand the rationale but subconsciously I don’t understand completely bc I am a woman and although looks are important to me, what means more to me are intangible, meaningful characteristics.
@CaliLove2224 ай бұрын
Subconsciously it definitely is a evolution approach, you acidly said it. Over time a woman may lose her beauty, and appear “older “ which means she is no longer able to reproduce. That’s why you find men dating younger, even as they age. Especially if he still wants to reproduce. The saying , chile bearing hips; A woman with wider hips is proven to be able to have easier births, which will ape her to have more natural births. A woman that has more weight, healthy weight, produce healthier children. Long term, is a whole different conversation, but when the man is done reproducing he may not care as much. When he’s already chosen his partner, and has had a life long partnership, he accepts certain phenomenons, but if he chooses another woman, she usually is half the age of his woman. Crazy I know
@steph61094 ай бұрын
Men can and never will be happy. They want multiple younger women. Younger women will always outgrow them after a few years, and to have multiple women they either need to live in a world where their have to share 'their'women or constantly be willing to fight and die to keep other men, hell bent on collecting, away. Men live in extremes that can never be maintained. They will always be miserable

I'm struggling with the entire concept of love is blind as justice is blind. Is that suppossed to be good? I'm just confused about love being blind. I've seen times where people say love is blind when someone wonders why the hell certain mismatched couples are together. I also believe love can be blind when it's true. Is it both? I totally get the visual attraction aspect, since one can tell when someone lets themselves go. I too have only been attracted to younger men for that reason, since some people can appear more aesthetically pleasing to the eye, so I get that too. I sure can never fall for anyone unless i see them in person, so it goes both ways. Guys appearance just seems to fade faster than women, since they rarely wear makeup. It just seems like beauty & the beast with so many. Many of my exes were absolutly georgeous upon meeting, yet years later, not at all. If their personality didn't keep up, then attraction & love can disappear. Since i don't drink, noone looks cute anymore.

Question: what do you mean by talk therapy? I'm a woman and terrible at articulating my feelings, but I still go to therapy because it's an empirical solution for mental health and relationship problems. The purpose isn't for the woman to release stress or gain the upper hand in an argument, it's to strengthen the relationship and reduce conflict in the long run. What you said about men and their physical way to process emotions could even be suggested in therapy. What I learned from this is that I’m a man. lol Btw while I’m sure there is a “general” difference between girls & guys in this aspect I don’t think it’s as great as you think it is. Women are extremely visual too but the fact a lot of beautiful women go for ugly guys I think might have more to do with culture than sex differences
@LeratoM984 ай бұрын
Yes and societal conditioning, mainly due to being in a patriarchal society where men have majority of the resources so naturally most women in the end decide to go for men with resources more so than men with physical attractiveness for survival reasons. But I think slowly things are changing, which is why it seems as though women today are more picky since we also want attractive men, BUT it's actually natural. Even in nature, male birds try to look as attractive as possible to attract a female and in some species, males are more attractive than women! So this idea that men care about looks while women don't is not natural. Women are also visual.

What about arranged marriages?
@namenotfound68814 ай бұрын
Right? But arranged marriages are very business oriented. It’s main purpose is to rear children. But both parties can grow to love the other. I think men just can’t have too narrow of an idea of what he finds attractive though. Like most women who are of a healthy weight is about a 5 if she also smiles and puts in effort

Then why men date basic women and not baddies ? Explain us why
@natureme44294 ай бұрын
Men drool over baddies, but not every man can have one. Basic women that have an attractive partner, most of the times are pickmes, easy to please and deal with, because they see the man as the prize. This isn't the case with the baddies. Because they have options and are not going to settle for or worship a man. Men nowadays are too feminine to go for what they want, fight for a woman and chase her. That's why.

Just because he doesn't want to marry her doesn't mean he isn't attracted to her. Marriage is about way way more than being physically attracted to someone...

Also women find attractive only 5-15% of Men , men find attractive over 50% of women 😀 we are actually the visual ones but more in the qualitative way!

I’m very much visual lol, 😅😅😅😅😅
@RootsRadiance3653 ай бұрын
That’s fine and all, but if that’s the case, I hope they feel the same if a woman don’t want them because they’re short, have crooked yellow teeth, or a receding hair line. 🤷♀️. Majority of the men critical of a woman’s appearance probably don’t look like much themselves either..

Women can get emotionally attached without the visual, we can’t fall in love without it, because women are also visual creatures. Do you have any idea how scarring, gross, and violating of a feeling it is to have your body be used by someone you don’t like? Love is 20/20 for both sexes. Period. Also, women are wired to be able to detect more colors, so it could be argued that we have the better eyesight, not men.

Did you see the news about how ppl think AD is a sugar baby? Clay had a problem with her finances because he didn’t know how she was making money without going to work lol she worked in a nightclub and had been seeing someone I guess then the show recruited her. She did fall for clay but I don’t think clay either wanted to marry a sugar baby orrr maybe AD worked in a strip club and not just a night club. Not sure but it’s a possibility

This is not completely true,us women care also for physical attractiveness! I couldn’t love a man I don’t feel sexual attraction to. Look to matrilineal societies how men behave in front of women there 💃😃
