I am a Sikh woman from Ahmedabad. Brought up in a Gujarati neighborhood....I absolutely love Gujarati food and yes I can cook Gujarati food like a pro because of years of exposure and practice. My friends and our Gujju neighbors would enjoy our Punjabi food and we enjoyed Gujarati food. It has a simplicity and delicacy to it...infact I just made Doodhi na Thepla for my American husband and mother in law. I loved seeing Rajkot Aunty...she's so sweet.

Hi Ranbeer, First of all thank you for teaching me good cooking. Love your cooking and love all new recipes. I have just started cooking better now lol. But wanted to share Bajri Dhebra recipe with you my mum used to make when I was schooling in 94-95. Try it you may like it. If you like it please share to other viewers too. My mom makes with Bajre Flour. And more and more Fenugreek leaves. Also to add heavy ginger and garlic. If you take 200 gms of flour then take 150 gms of fenugreek leaves and 50 gms of coriander leaves. Also chilli paste before binding. Also for dry spices use turmeric chilli powder, asafitada cumin and coriander powder , salt , lemon and little auger. 3 table spoon of oil and rest of water bind them soft. Cook like paratha with sunflower oil. When little cold have with nice and hot cup of tea or give to kids for lunch box with white butter and jaggery. You would probably like it with Desi Ghee as well. Try it and enjoy. 😊

Love this clip. In my early travels to the US as a student, I used to get dozens of Theplas and chilli pickles packed from a nearby shop in Colaba, Mumbai. They were so much better than the food served during the flight, plus they guaranteed me ready-to eat delicious meals for a few days in the dormitory as I slowly got over the jet lag. Only problem was keeping my roommate from devouring my Theplas! 💕🍽💕
