Maangchi i need help, i have seen in k dramas, that people eat roasted pig skin, how is that called in korean? i try to look it up on google but it doesnt show a thing beside samgyeopsal and jokbal PLEASE HELP ME TnT

한국에선 보통 밥은 식초말고 참기름 소금으로 밑간하고 참치김밥은 마요네즈를 넣거나 깻잎이들어가는데 아보카도가 들어가고 캘리포니아롤 느낌도 드네요 외국인들에겐 더 익숙한 맛 이겠어요

Maangchi! I always love your videos. I started watching you 10 years ago (2012) when I first moved to South Korea to teach English to elementary school students. I didn't know how to make any Korean food, and there wasn't a lot of foreign foods available in my small city, Pohang. Because of you I learned to make dishes and eat well. Now, it is 2022, I am still living in Korea and I still look forward to every video. You taught me how to make so many delicious Korean foods. I want to say, "Thank you 💗" from my heart!

와 엄청 맛있겠어요! 참치 마요네즈 깻잎을 사용한 평범한 참치김밥을 예상했는데 참치를 조리하고 아보카도를 사용한 참치김밥이라니! 이건 무조건 맛있을 것 같아요. 공부가 됬어요. 이번 연휴에 만들어 먹어 볼게요. 댓글은 자주 달지 않지만 늘 재미있게 보고 있고 응원하고 있어요. 건강하시고 다른 요리도 기대하겠습니다.

I remember those heated floors in Korea but I did not know that people used them to keep food warm! That is so cool. I love kimbap!

Happy Mother's Day 🏵️ Maangchi! My daughter and I did just as you said. Made these last night to take on a picnic today! My grocery stores don't carry danmuji so I used pickle instead. These were so delicious, I couldn't stop eating them! The tuna and sesame oil combination is so irresistible, I may make tuna like this and pack in rice for rice balls! Thanks for this recipe ♥️

I found out from a DNA test that I have Korean ancestry, and when I searched for Korean cuisine, Gimbap came up. The tuna Gimbap you made looks so delicious! I never had Gimbap before, but I so want to try it after seeing your video!😊

@@Maangchi Thanks! Yeah, since I found out I have Korean ancestry, (and since my mom found out she has Korean ancestry according to Wegene), I really became interested in Gimbap, and I bought 2 Hanbok outfits as well. 😇

Years ago one of my friends taught me an easy way to cut avocado. Instead of cutting it in half and trying to get the pit out with a knife just cut it into 4ths instead, I don't trust myself to get an avocado pit out with a knife & not slice open my hand. The skin will peel right off, like a banana (if it is ripe) and any strange spots are easy to remove too. The 4ths would be easy to cut for your gimbap too. This feels so much safer I am surprised more people do not use this way.

김밥 담는 그릇이 얼른 보기에 일본스럽지 않아 만드신 분의 정신을 엿 볼수 있었습니다. 개인 생각입니다. 저 김밥을 담는 한국적인 것을 생각한다면 대나무 그릇, 나전칠기 쟁반, 자기로 만든 사기 쟁반, 놋그릇 쟁반 등등등 생각해 볼 기회가 되었습니다. 감사드립니다.

This is my favorite snack and while I like to share, I love this food very much; it’s a bit of a challenge! So it’s always best to make a bunch. The perfect picnic and party food!

Lovely as always Maangchi and your food looks lovely too. I would love to see you do a keto diet friendly main dish, although I’m sure you’ve done many unknowingly, like kimchi. Maybe some pork and vegetable recipe?

Good gimbap I added some sesame oil to the rice as well to get an added seasoned oil flavor that I love , we had heated floors when I was growing up in Korea,but I never new you could use it like the way you did ,I know I didn't see my mom use it like that

I have made the exact same dish for years, ever since I saw your triangle gimbap video many years ago. I don't have any triangle molds, so I just rolled them like maki sushi roles When I don't have time or energy, I just arrange rice, vegetables, and stir fried tuna in a bowl like a salad and eat 😂 This tuna recipe saved me as a student

Yay for a Maangchi video! I liked the pizza pan cameo, and also the part where you ate the last bit of the avocado. I tend to call that "chef's bonus". :D Avocado is awesome. I'll have to make this gimbap. Though... does anyone sell danmuji without aspartame? So far, I've not found it. :(

I Love This!! I remember the original video back i 2007!! Tuna Powder was and is my Favorite Filling for Gimbap! I Have learned so much from Maangchi's videos over the years!! Chamchi is Tuna. Jeon is pancake. I Love Chamchi jeon too!!!!

This is not the original tuna kimbap, this is definitely Mangchii’s version of it. In Korea we don’t put avocados in. Originally we put in cucumber, ham, danmugi,crabsticks, tuna, fresh perilla leaves(this is a must), and mayo in tuna kimbap.

is Tuna mayo kimbap ever a thing? Also...I really want to make kimbap to take for lunch but I start work really early and cannot wake up to cook it before. Do you have any tips for making it the night before and having it last?

Gimbap is the most delicious right after it is made. Cooked rice is getting harder at cold temperature, so you should not make gimbap in advance. However, if you have some leftovers, keep them in the fridge up to 1 day and pan-fry with some cooking oil before serving.

I want to make this for my kids. But i am always rushing in the morning. Can I make it the night before? If so, how can I store it?

Gimbap is the most delicious right after it is made. Cooked rice is getting harder at cold temperature, so you should not make gimbap in advance. The taste will be good up to several hours at room temperature.

I'm wondering: if I want to make gimbap in advance, what is the best way to keep it fresh for a day or so? Wrap it in aluminum foil? Or is it better to eat it freshly made? Thanks for the video!

Gimbap was the first kind of sushi I ever had (years ago.) I ate a piece and it was "where's THIS been my whole life!" Still love it and since it's cooked, not difficult to make at home.

Korean Tuna is the best, if you can get it. I but mine at my local Asian market. I am SO glad in my area, that we are getting more stores for supplies and ingredients ❤
