In 760d it is given standard for video shoot , what does it mean ? Is it better than IPB or lower than IPB or equivalent ALL-I ?

Canon has not provided encoding details for this model. If those are concerns of yours, you should select another camera where those details are provided. In my mind, unless there's a specific feature on has that the other is missing, that you choose based on your brand preference, or your hand size. I find the Canon a little small for my hand, but that's a very idiosyncratic reason.

Good review! Still no 1080p60, while Panasonic, Sony and Samsung offer 4K? Canon is stuck in ancient times. I wonder have you tried 720p60? On the T4i/EOSM it is markedly worse than 1080p, and I mean plain horrible, having low resolution, moire and stairstepping, which means that the T4i/EOSM is unusable for 60p. Looking at your sample, at 15:00-15:10 check out the girl on the left in black... I mean not the girl but the wooden post behind her - see the "collar" on the top of that post, how it changes color from black to reddish? Canon still cannot deliver decent video quality in its DSLRs - even Nikon now does better.

+ConsumerDV Thanks for the kind words. It is odd, but this is really a part-time video solution, particularly with the somewhat crippled HDMI out. I didn't create any samples in 720p60, sorry. The video mode is fine for shooting non-critical holiday footage and candid video of your kids, it's not designed for serious shooters. I think it's unfair to expect more in this class. Video enthusiasts (even those not yet looking for 4K) should look elsewhere. The HDR mode shots are 720 and show a clear quality deterioration, and not a great deal of added range. The gain on that shot in the concert is pretty high, so I didn't judge that shot too harshly.

My fault really. There is no display - which is why I made the comment about the level adjustment. I'd really recommend an external recorder if audio is important to you.

nice review MH..I have a question about back button focus as I've been thinking on trying a Canon after selling my OMD EM5.. is it the same with other cameras where while holding the back button it acts in AI Servo or AF continuous..and when you let go it will be in One Shot/AF-S or locks the focus?

There are several configuration possibilities (I didn't describe them all in the video) in its simplest form, the focus is lifted from the shutter button and transferred to the asterisk button. When you press the asterisk, the T6S focusses, in whatever mode it's in.Option 2 (controlled by custom function 10) can pause the AI Servo AF mode, locking focus until the shutter is pressed. Download the manual to read all the details. Hope this helps.

I think you have discovered my channel at exactly the right time, and thank you very much for your kind words. I would recommend the Panasonic over the Canon only if you are primarily shooting video, want 4K and if you have no existing Canon lenses.

What are you planning to shoot? Canon's large aperture prime lenses are usually the best choice.

I hope that I'm understanding your question properly. The 50mm lens is a fixed focal length lens, so in order to get closer (or further) from a subject you need to use your feet. The 18-135 zoom enables you to move closer (or further) from your subject by changing the focal length. So, you don't need to buy the lens as long as you're willing and able to move closer.

+Romel Madlangbayan I'm not the best judge of image quality - I generally refer to the tests at dpreview or dxomark. That said, I'm very fond of the colour rendition in Fuji out of camera jpegs - really my favourite across all brands. However, I was really amazed by the amount of information in the Canon RAW files, which enabled me to recover clouds and blue sky from what really seemed to be blown out highlights. If you're prepared to spend some time in Lightroom, I'd recommend the T6S just for the latitude it provides in post.

GREAT video Maarten, i am looking into a camera, especially this one particular. Would you recommend this for Vlogging everyday content and pictures, or have you tried any of the GoPro's out there for Vlogs and picture quality? Would like an opinion as well. I enjoyed the field test on your hands on review.

Thanks for the kind words, and taking the time to comment. It's a great camera, and the flip screen makes it selfie and vlogging friendly, but I think that in general you'd like a smaller, lighter camera so that you can hold it at arms length (or on a selfie stick) easily. The Canon G7X (I or II) is a popular choice, as is the Sony A5100. Although I've never reviewed one, I've used several GoPros and have never been happy with the results except on the sunniest of days. (Maybe I'm not "extreme" enough.) For vlogging, unless you're doing external audio recording and syncing in post, the GoPro audio quality is not good. Hope this helps.

+Maarten Heilbron My only guess is that previous Rebels didn't have features like the upper LCD screen and the back dial to change aperture settings (it required a button you have to hold to toggle between EV and Aperture control with the single dial up top). I've seen people gripe on forums about how that lack of control limits the camera, though how that matters is beyond me. Other than that, picture quality was still very good and the Rebel cameras were capable picture/movie capturing machines for the price.

+minstryl They've always been excellent entry level cameras, and while they've not had the features of the higher end models, as you say - capable image and video cameras for the price. Rebels are always particularly well bundled with lenses and other starter gear at retail.

Both are great cameras. Unless there's a specific function that one has, I'd pick one based on price, how it feels in your hand and the brand you prefer.

I Got 760D but in Raw Quality and Movie rec. Size Max is 50.00P ???is not 59.94P ? is that different :(

The frame rate is based on the video system setting. In PAL only 50P is available. 59.94 is available with NTSC.
