Mabo Dofu - 麻婆豆腐 - Cooking Japanese
Mabo Dofu or Mabo Tofu is the Japanese version of the Chinese dish Mapo Tofu. The Japanese version is very similar except it is normally not as spicy as it’s Chinese influence. In fact, the Japanese version is very popular with kids as well.
Mabo Dofu has become widely popular in Japan both at restaurants and at home. You can buy instant packs that only need tofu to added to it. These are surprisingly good. But Mabo Dofu is so easy to make and that it is worth the little extra effort to make it from scratch.
Serve Mabo Dofu over a bowl of rice for a nice warm meal that will make the whole family happy ;-)
