This is a great video, much better than trying to read a set of instructions and a whole lot clearer. Do make sure your Mac is connected to the internet as per the video otherwise you might have to go back and restore the old system because you won't be able to download the operating system ( Like I had to!)

After factory restore when prompted to import backup from hard drive, it will set up my iTunes and iPhoto just the way it was before with all the folders and ratings I have it arranged now? +Di Srm The backup should make an exact copy of your OS files, I don't use iTunes or iPhoto on my Mac so I can't tell you how the backup works for that case.

I have an old version of MacOS which was originally 10.6.2 but I installed a few up dates and now my mac is 10.6.8 and I wish to download and install El Capitan but I am never able to do it through the app store even though I have an account with them. I asked the Apple Support but they have been very unhelpful. When I saw your video I was so excited and you were great with your clear and smooth instructions. But I just wanted to ask you if you please and if you don't mind to give me a little further advice, if I also need to follow your step by step guide if I want to install El Capitan do I need to erase my HD containing some of my not so important files as I have already saved all of the important files and folders. Would it just install automatically when I click install from the applications folder? I am so sorry I am just a little confused. Just don't back it up. I reset my whole mac without backing it up. Just do it in case something goes wrong and you can't get a mac anymore.

Yes use Th AppStore to get OSX el capitan after installed you can do a factory reset like what i did in this video.. You will end up with a fresh OSX install 🏁
