As a gambler, I would bet the Jets to win this one. Bet point 1: Dallas cowboys are different breed, the loss was inevitable. Now that they face the Patriots, with the Jets defense, they could still win. I would also predict Zach Wilson to have a zero INT game and over 180 yards passing with 1 td. Mac Jones will have a rough game with 5 sacks, 1 fumble lost and 2 INT

He just really likes drafting defensive players and o lineman which was workable when Brady was around cause that meant the defense was stout and kept games winnable and late in the game Brady would just clutch up and score to win the game even with subpar weapons. Like Edelman, Troy brown, Wes welker were all nice players let’s be real besides moss for 3 years and gronk they never had even pro bowl level weapons.

I think the problem with the Brady or Belichick argument is they operated on opposite sides of the ball. If Belichick was an offensive minded coach, and couldn't get by without Brady, then 100% you could argue that Brady carried him and Belichick's terrible on his own. But the reality is his defenses have still played well, even without a lot of star power. But with Josh McDaniels leaving to be a terrible HC, and the team just not having any offensive playmakers, it's hard to stay competitive in that situation. And they still seem to manage to stay in the conversation late in the season. I think the Krafts and the Patriots fans are a bit delusional if they think they'll get rid of Belichick and become some kind of powerhouse again. Belichick is the only reason they're not the Bears right now, and as bad as the fans think things are at the moment, it'll get a lot worse really fast. The problem with having a dynasty is that eventually it'll end, and people have to come to terms with the mediocrity that follows it.
@thecharmcityplayerbrandona8827
@thecharmcityplayerbrandona8827 10 ай бұрын
I have to agree with everything you said. Bill Belichick is a defensive-minded head coach and his defense is playing well because it's not like they're getting blown out like crazy. The main issue is the lack of Playmakers on the offensive side. Personally I don't think he'll be fired but I believe he will be removed as GM.

@@thecharmcityplayerbrandona8827 Defense can stop teams but only so much, Steeler fan here. Our defense scored 12 points last game, our offense scored 14. While impressive you are not scoring 2 defensive TDs every game, with guys like Mahomes, Burrow, Allen, Lamar, Tua can score 30 easily you're playing a losing battle. In this new NFL if you can't get points on offense you are not winning in the playoffs.
@mikewilliams-jw8jd
@mikewilliams-jw8jd 10 ай бұрын
No one questions his greatness as a defensive mind but he’s not just in charge of the defense he’s the head coach so the offenses problems are his to solve. If he can’t he should go back to being a dc. The lack of talent is on him too since he’s the gm. Bb has been hc for enough years now with other qbs and it’s not like they were trash qbs. He had Bernie kosar, Vinny testaverde, drew Bledsoe, cam newton and Mac jones. No one’s saying they are on Brady’s level but these are good nfl qbs they have probowls, won playoff games and been to superbowls so clearly they are good enough to have above a .500 record with. All of them beside Mac have probowls and won playoff games and I think Mac could win one if given a chance so then I think it’s fair to question why bb is 80-90 with 1 playoff game win without Brady. Just compare that to say Andy Reid record without mahomes 182-120 with 11 playoff game wins.

I don’t think you can rationalise getting rid of Bill as a coach. I do think you get rid of him as a GM, but he has put himself in this position because of his overconfidence as a coach. He instilled a buddy of his as an OC, he can’t draft skill positions and often whiffs in free agency. He’s grown accustomed to Brady making Amendola a star, making Chris Hogan a useful piece. Whereas Mac isn’t the guy. You put Mac behind that O-line, with those wide outs, you’re not going to win. If BB refuses to relinquish his GM power then you move on. But I think you have to try and keep him around as a coach.

@emmanuelhtrevino 10 ай бұрын
A rookie wall is a physical limitation from going from a shorter length less physical college season to a longer more physical NFL season. QBs don't hit a rookie wall because their position is less physical than other positions. It's called a sophomore slump not a sophomore wall for QBs because in their sophomore season teams can use their rookie season films to game plan better against them. Instead of having no pro film for a rookie QB so rookies can be be surprisingly good because teams aren't entirely sure what they are able to do in the pros.

The narrative that belichick has slipped as a coach is laughable. Brady didn't just leave and therefore the pats got worse, Brady left BECAUSE he saw the roster was getting worse... and it is without a doubt far worse overall than when Brady was there. How this information is always ignored is troubling to me. And yes you could say that the coach is the reason for the talent slip across the roster, but the man kept a strong roster for almost 20 years, so he probably is due for a poor stretch in player skill.

Agreed, Tom Brady realizes Patriots roster offensively was not going to get better which is why he went to Tampa Bay because he saw those weapons. That's the only issue about Bill Belichick he will put a lot of resources into the defense and special teams but barely give the offense any type of attention.

This. Brady knew the team couldn't get him enough. they mortgaged the future to give him enough to squeeze out that last Super Bowl. But they were going nowhere fast. If Brady had stayed he would have gone down as a system QB - and no one special. Now the pendulum swung too far the other way - people forget that Brady threw for 134 yards in his first super bowl - or that the Pats won 13-3 in their last super bowl.

As a dolphins fan, I can't wait for 20-40 years of them losing to balance things out. Remember, the Patriots were almost moved to San Antonio in the 90s because of how bad things were in New England. I want them back to that level of bad 😂

@@Scott_Dunbar_II 2000-2021, the Patriots won 230+ games, won the division 16 times and went 6-3 in Superbowls. Sorry, that level of dominance erases anything bad they felt before. No team in the Superbowl era has experienced that longevity of excellence. They can be salty and normal for a while
