@steves9964
@steves9964 8 ай бұрын
Except what he didn't say is that Wilson lost the locker room last year not even due to very poor play but rather because of an entitled attitude. That wasn't the Jets' fault. Wildes doesn't like the Jets as it seems is the case with just about every other non-Jet fan media personality out there so again it's pile-on time. Rinse and repeat. Maybe the stars have actually aligned here for Wilson to make good after being humbled. I also disagree with the assertion that it was wrong to bring in Flacco (or anyone else) and his eventual comments about wanting to compete to be the starter. Going back to Sanchez the Jets mismanaged young quarterback situations with Sanchez, Smith, Darnold and now Wilson by drafting them very high and giving them the keys to the kingdom without any sort of competition. They were criticized for that too, and rightfully so. Heck, it took for Smith to get punched out during camp to clear the way for Fitzmagic to play in 2015 and lead the team to its only winning season since its last playoff berth in 2010. It was also the only season I can recall in nearly the last twenty that the Jets fielded a competent passing game.

@@aroperdope Wilson was benched last season because of his attitude. There would have been a mutiny if they kept him under center after that second New England game up there. What's wrong with him being humbled? If he's a competitor and actually cares about his craft then maybe he'll learn from the benching, work harder and come back better. From all accounts he's seemed to handle things very well, including dealing with Rodgers' arrival. But this idea that the Jets did Wilson wrong is laughable. He did himself wrong. He was more interested in his ego and banging MILFs than improving. They did Darnold and Sanchez wrong, not Wilson.

Even with Wilson's first game posting a much higher completion percentage than previous years against a very good Bills defense. They're not going to get the long ball out of him, and with that offensive line he's more likely to get injured than show results (good OR bad). But because their team is so stacked in every other department, you can still look for the Jets to at least be spoilers and if lucky land a wild card spot down the stretch, but that's about as magical as it's going to get.

This segment seems like the first time in a while I’ve seen mainstream sports media just talking ball and not pushing narratives. Hope there’s more to come

The Jets let Wilson try to be the franchise QB and he wasn’t. They then tried the game manager route and he failed at that. No surprise when they bring in the next guy.

Jets should hire 2 more QBs. This way if Z. Wilson get hurt they have 2 backups and the backups can be in competition. This will give them more options. Go after Mike White and Taylor Heineke--maybe Cooper Rush and Tyler Huntley if you can get their teams to let them go. Maybe even call some guys off of the couch like Brady, Fitzpatrick, Rothlisberger or Foles. Having only 2 QBs on a roster is hella sketch. 4 used to be standard years ago.

So nick wants the jets to trade for guys that have never taken a snap in a playoff game?.. might as well just keep zach and go from there.
