Mac Miller - So It Goes (prod. Larry Fisherman & Jon Brion)

The haunting final song on Swimming heavily features the phrase “So It Goes,” a line from Kurt Vonnegut’s novel, Slaughterhouse-Five. Vonnegut uses this phrase every time a death occurs.
Like a majority of the album, the song has a bouncy, melancholic feel, layered with woozy synths and layered sing-song vocals.

So it goes is my favorite Mac song and that's from a Mac fan who has been listening since he got On and On as the free song of the week on Apple music. Malcolm solidified how passion transcends genres. i didn't care much at all about rap-hiphop. until i listened to faces, and swimming, back to back the day he died. i needed to know what all the noise was about. and all we have now is his noise. so grateful.

I remember, I was visiting new York with my family, I was in hooters by myself when my girlfriend at the time gave me that fateful text, I didn't even finish eating but instead just asked for my check and a shot, after leaving I was in a crowd of new yorkers and couldn't help but just cry, I never had a dad figure in my life and mac was the closest, he helped me so much thru my addiction to coke, and I'm happy to say that I don't use anymore cause of mac :) , RIP to the freaking GOAT!!!!!!!!!!

Man...i love this song. I remember watching his IG story the night before he died. When he posted the end of this song playing from his vinyl. It made me so happy and warm cuz i was truely so proud of him and amazed by the album, and planning to buy VIP tickets to his show and was just so excited, and this song was one of my favorites. The next day when we all found out, i went back and watched his story over and over again until it was gone because i just couldnt believe it. Seeing that and also knowing one of his last tweets from that same night that and he actually deleted it, said "The end of so it goes is so beautiful man, I told Jon Brion to play the ascension into heaven and he nailed it" ....😭 Mac ascended into Heaven early the next morning...We love and miss you Mac 💔 i still wish it wasnt real.
