Malcolm, "You was Easy Mac with the cheesy raps. Who the f*** is Mac Miller?" My whole life I felt like we were in sync. I discovered your music video for Knock Knock on MTV in 2010 and I was instantly attracted to you. I looked up everything you had on what limited resources there were on the internet back then and discovered K.I.D.S. Admittedly, I didn't come to truly appreciate that album until I was out of high school, but I listened to Kool Aid & Frozen Pizza until I could taste it. When you dropped Blue Slide Park, Best Day Ever, and On and On Beyond in 2011. I was going into my Junior year of high school. I learned value in friendships but also in being alone. You helped me find something to smile about. I must have listened to Missed Calls 1000 times, reminding myself that it's okay to cry too. In 2012 you released Macadellic and your song Loud became the number one reason to blow out the speakers in my friends cars. I'll never forget seeing you open with it at The Filmore on your GO:OD AM tour. 2013 was a dark year for both of us. Struggling to find who we were and trying out new identities. I went to college and you created Delusional Thomas, Watching Movies With The Sound Off, and The Space Migration Sessions. WMWTSO gave me my favorite song, Objects In The Mirror. Every time I think about your face, I think about your line, "People love you when they on your mind. A thought is loves currency." This is when I started to see you grow. And I wanted to grow with you. In 2014 the darkness continued with your mixtape, Faces. For a lot of people, this is where their journey with you began. Your honesty about your struggles with expectations, oblivion, death, and substance abuse resonated with a lot of people, including me. I cried over your suffering and wanted to tell you how many people you were impacting. GO:OD AM was released in 2015 and from the second I heard the alarm clock go off on track 2, Brand Name, I knew you were the only person on earth who knew exactly what I was feeling when I woke up for work on Monday morning. Mac, this album changed my life. The composition was flawless, your lyrics were poetry, and your execution was masterful. You got me through the hardest year of my life. I wanted to tell you when I met you. I wish I had told you when I met you. In the nature of being in sync, when you released The Divine Feminine in 2016 I was also falling in love. I was wrapped in my own femininity and your album helped me feel at home in my own skin and proud to be a woman. Now in 2018, with the heaviest heart, I wanna talk about Swimming. The darker Divine Feminine. An album about falling out of love, growing away from your friends, turning back to substances, and returning to music. I bought front row tickets to your upcoming show in Detroit. I couldn't wait to see you. Today, I got a phone call that you had died from an overdose. Tears immediately swelled in my eyes as I received countless texts and calls from friends. Malcolm, I'm sorry I didn't tell you this sooner. Maybe if I had... well, I would have been just another fan. I love you.

Lyrics - People love you when they on your mind A thought is love's currency And I been thinking about her all the time I've never seen somebody put together perfectly What would I have to do to call you mine Someone like you is so hard to find You can open up your eyes or you can walk it blind All I ask is that you hurry, I won't hurt you don't you worry Listen to me, I'mma set you free He ain't gonna break your heart again Go through the worst to reach the ecstasy When your imagination's on pretend Never thought that it would feel this way You never taught me how to heal the pain I wish you caught me on a different day When it was easier to be happy So just a little taste and you know she got you Can you hide away, can you hide away Sound of silence as they all just watch you I kinda find it strange How the times have changed But I wish, we could go and be free, once Baby, you and me We could change the world forever And never come back again Let's leave it all in the rear-view You don't have to cry You don't have to cry And mend a broken heart girl if you can I don't expect you to be capable You got the world right in your hands And that responsibility is unescapable I promise that I'll be a different man Please give me the chance to go and live again I'm having some trouble can you give a hand It seems perfection really is unattainable Don't even say you about to end it all Your life precious ain't a need to go and kill yourself I'm not so sure that there's an end at all I wish the truth would just reveal itself Who do you call to make it to the top And, who do you call to make the shootin' stop And who do you call to give the coup a wash? After every thing I did I think I'm still myself So just a little taste and you know she got you Can you hide away, can you hide away Sound of silence as they all just watch you I kinda find it strange How the times have changed But I wish, we could go and be free, once Baby, you and me We could change the world forever And never come back again Let's leave it all in the rear-view You don't have to cry You don't have to cry

I pursued a music degree to work with people like him. Last year I suffered from over two hundred seizures due to military issues... My doctor consistently gave me the wrong medication and ill information. This year with a different setup I have only had four so far, But over a third of my life floats around and my head as broken glass. Although things are looking better I still don't feel like I should be here anymore. I believe my dude took The big L for all of us. I love you my Mac. @@rylanmacdonald6416 He gave more than a fuck by making the music he did to reach everyone, you have no idea how many people Mac helped thru his music. Obviously you can't know everyone so he can't care much about what he doesn't know about but I know he would be hurt to hear if any of his fans had passed especially how he did. But he sacrificed his sanity for all of his listeners, he's intimately talking to the listener in everyone of his songs. In this song specifically he's talking to everyone going through the pain and confusion he faced. His connection made me realize we are not that different no matter how hard we try to be. He was a poet who pushed his mind to extreme limits to retrieve the information gave to us.

Names dont matter. People remember names and letters from history ("Jesus") but they dont turely remember why they became history and how they were... Better keep that in mind then just a name

So happy to see ppl apologizing for “sleeping” on Mac & seeing his fans welcome them w open arms. Honestly real recognizes real. I don’t think any one can be a fake Mac fan. I mean the man doesn’t even make that kinda music ♥️

I think its goofy, people's need to tell others when they got into mac miller or especially how it has affected them or where they were in life when they stumbled on Mac's music... Nobody has to be sorry to anyone in the comment section for finding an artist late and also I don't think any better of someone if they started listening to him since he was a minor. None of that is a requirement of music appreciation. You all a bunch of goofballs to me.

fr the only song i listened to was the song he did with Ariana grande in 2013 and then “slept” on him and was just in shock when he died so i gave him a try . RIP MAC

People love you when they on your mind A thought is love's currency And I been thinking about her all the time I've never seen somebody put together perfectly What would I have to do to call you mine Someone like you is so hard to find You can open up your eyes or you can walk it blind All I ask is that you hurry, I won't hurt you don't you worry Listen to me, I'mma set you free He ain't gonna break your heart again Go through the worst to reach the ecstasy When your imagination's on pretend Never thought that it would feel this way You never taught me how to heal the pain I wish you caught me on a different day When it was easier to be happy So just a little taste and you know she got you Can you hide away, can you hide away Sound of silence as they all just watch you I kinda find it strange How the times have changed But I wish, we could go and be free, once Baby, you and me We could change the world forever And never come back again Let's leave it all in the rear-view You don't have to cry You don't have to cry And mend a broken heart girl if you can I don't expect you to be capable You got the world right in your hands And that responsibility is unescapable I promise that I'll be a different man Please give me the chance to go and live again I'm having some trouble can you give a hand It seems perfection really is unattainable Don't even say you about to end it all Your life precious ain't a need to go and kill yourself I'm not so sure that there's an end at all I wish the truth would just reveal itself Who do you call to make it to the top And, who do you call to make the shootin' stop And who do you call to give the coup a wash? After every thing I did I think I'm still myself So just a little taste and you know she got you Can you hide away, can you hide away Sound of silence as they all just watch you I kinda find it strange How the times have changed But I wish, we could go and be free, once Baby, you and me We could change the world forever And never come back again Let's leave it all in the rear-view You don't have to cry You don't have to cry
