I found out about him after his death too. Going off of several comments on his video's, so many people didn't know who he was until after he passed. He was just getting to his peak. Glad his drug dealers got prison time for selling him fentanyl laced pills. No, he shouldn't have been buying stuff but he apparently trusted those people and then he died hours later. He legittt got lost in the music and at that exact moment.. nothing, absolutely nothing, mattered. Exactly how it was for me back in 2013. A random song of his came on on KZbin and I turned it off. Granted I was 11 at the time and wasn't into rap as much. When Swimming dropped I planned on listening to it because the cover liked cool yet simple. I never got around to it though. Then the day came when he's passed, I found out and decided to listen to it. And to my surprise is was beautiful. I don't know why but before I listened to the album I felt such sadness. So much I wanted to cry. Keep in mind I only heard 1 song by him fully, the song "Dang!" And skipped one song in 2013. Anyway, after finishing "Swimming" I downloaded 2 more albums, "GO:OD AM" and "The Divine Feminine". Now he's become one of my favorite rappers, and artist in general. I'm SUPER ashamed of my unwillingness to listen to more of his music.

Same dude, I feel you. I mean there were a few songs of his that I bumped back in the day, but I never realized he was this good of a lyricist and he was just hitting his prime, he was only getting better with time. He went from party music and matured into a true artist. Swimming is one of the better albums I've heard this year, if not the best. Don't know what ya got till it's gone I suppose.
@IamLINErida6 жыл бұрын
for those of you who still doubt. Swimming truly is the best musical album to come out this year. and this was after a lot of self debate, revisiting and thought. its the definition of music as an ART. a majority of the lyrics except for certain hooks were freestyled just like they have been from the beginning. he did the full production even wrote the sheet music. and the entire album relates to itself entirely. not to mention. no features. it truly is a great musical feat. more than can be said by any albums released this year.
