I found out about him after his death too. Going off of several comments on his video's, so many people didn't know who he was until after he passed. He was just getting to his peak. Glad his drug dealers got prison time for selling him fentanyl laced pills. No, he shouldn't have been buying stuff but he apparently trusted those people and then he died hours later. I pray for all addicts to find the light and get the help they need before it's too late. It's NEVER too late to get help!!

The sad thing is the Grammys aren’t about the best music it’s about the most popular cardi has hit songs so the people who vote see 3 mainstream hit songs and vote for it while there are albums like swimming that doesn’t get much to any radio play but is an amazing artistic album and will get over looked because it’s not as popular and/or doesn’t have any singles on the charts

Claudia Gibson with great music comes great tragedies, look at X, Tupac, and biggie. Just like they say all legends die in the making. We lost a good soul, I’m starting to get scared how this world is gonna turn out that shit Kanye did with Lil pump. I remember the first rap concert I’ve ever went to was a Mac Miller concert I was obsessed with that mans music. Sorry I’m high as fuck and looking back at it Mac Miller put me onto good ass music. It's him, Anderson and Royce for me. Trap is alright but I suggest that horns, piano and acoustic drums contribute to the swell of emotions in an underestimated fashion. A simple drum loop and synth bass steals a track of its emotional power but I guess trap ain't made for heart-wrenching, gut-punching sentiment.

I always noticed that about him in the Tiny Desk, and admired the fuck out of it. This is someone who loved music sooo much,, every instrument he learned to play himself and truly loved the live bands. It's really rare to see such passion in artists with their work now. He legittt got lost in the music and at that exact moment.. nothing, absolutely nothing, mattered. Legend that deserved much more than the cards he was dealt... soooo happy he lives on forever through the one thing he truly loved. Im sure hes so proud looking down on how many souls he has and continues to save. ♡♡ testy easy mac

Since the 5th grade that's all she could or would talk about was Mac Miller!! She met him twice and cried happy!! Since Sept 7th he remains up on her phone screen. And she doesn't like to talk about him, she cries. I've listened to every album of his now for over a month and I now get it!! Such a beautiful musician who loved his music!! This album was one of my favorites!! I've played this song and video so many times I lost count!! As well as "My Favorite Part" with Ariana Grande. You could so see how much he loved that girl 😥 such a beautiful soul!!! Well I hope he can rest now, but his music will live on forever!!! R. I. P. Malcolm ♥️🌼

Exactly how it was for me back in 2013. A random song of his came on on KZbin and I turned it off. Granted I was 11 at the time and wasn't into rap as much. When Swimming dropped I planned on listening to it because the cover liked cool yet simple. I never got around to it though. Then the day came when he's passed, I found out and decided to listen to it. And to my surprise is was beautiful. I don't know why but before I listened to the album I felt such sadness. So much I wanted to cry. Keep in mind I only heard 1 song by him fully, the song "Dang!" And skipped one song in 2013. Anyway, after finishing "Swimming" I downloaded 2 more albums, "GO:OD AM" and "The Divine Feminine". Now he's become one of my favorite rappers, and artist in general. I'm SUPER ashamed of my unwillingness to listen to more of his music.

I mean there were a few songs of his that I bumped back in the day, but I never realized he was this good of a lyricist and he was just hitting his prime, he was only getting better with time. for those of you who still doubt. Swimming truly is the best musical album to come out this year. and this was after a lot of self debate, revisiting and thought. its the definition of music as an ART. a majority of the lyrics except for certain hooks were freestyled just like they have been from the beginning. he did the full production even wrote the sheet music. and the entire album relates to itself entirely. not to mention. no features. it truly is a great musical feat. more than can be said by any albums released this year.

It's amazing how he sets a rhythm with his voice and vocals, to the point where the jazz musicians are boppin' in time with him before any percussion enters the song. this is an amazing performance. Then he conducts the horns at the end. Amazing.

The quiet raspy “Thank you” followed by his little bow to Jon at the end got me.♥️ Some of the members of the band couldn’t help but smile after seeing that.

Damn. This performance is gold. I can't believe he's gone. I got into him when I got a copy of 'The Divine Feminine.' Such a great album. And then he releases this! So beautiful. I gotta admit, when I see these vids of Mac, I start to tear up. He was such a great talent and he was being true to himself in his art. Rest in power, Mac.

Yeah your right I had no idea who he was , I mainly listen to and make my own dubstep riddim music and after hearing he passed away and everything I decided to spend some time on KZbin and whoa the talent behind this guy is amazing and I'm going to be listening to him alot more , this guy can make music if I ever heard any

As a 47 yr old, you know talent when you hear it. He gave my son and I a common music interest. Was doing great things and truly sad the world will not be able to enjoy his further evolution and maturation as a musician and person.

I could say just about the same thing, just add 25 years to the equation. This was a beautiful, heartfelt collab. Thank you Jon and Steve C for being a platform for exciting new artists. This gig helps me understand what a loss it was for my son and others of his gen when Mac died.

Lyrically a genius, beautiful texture to his music, and continued to evolve and grow as an artist with every song he dropped. I’m truly convinced his next album would’ve been something of the gods. (Even tho all his shit is)

Somehow we gotta find a way No matter how many miles it takes I know it feels so good right now But it all comes fallin' down When the night meet the light Turn to day Can't stop, yeah, you won't stop I know just how that feel When you're on top, 'til the ball drop You've never seen it be so real It feels so good right now But it all comes fallin' down When the night meets the light Turn to day Feel it a little, feel it a lot I'm swimmin' a bit, but deeper in thought Keepin' my head on top of my shoulders Into some shit, I'm out of the box This the level I'm on Needin' it all right now when forever is gone Baby, the weather is strong Whether it's hot or cold I'm comin', knockin' on your door Well, I'ma, I'ma maintain, I'm stayin' so high Put the lighter all the way up 'til we touchin' the sky And you know you're dead wrong, you're in love with a lie All I, all I, all I wanna do is free your mind We don't see no lines, we don't color inside It's a very small world, we don't fuck with the size Yeah, see the bigger picture when it's beneficial Lovin' how I catch you blow the whistle when you run out of time Yeah, wakin' up I open up my, eyes Do you mind if I blow your, mind? A little closer, baby, don't be, shy Why you worried that it's gon' be, fine? I guess it's that kinda day It's really all I'm tryna say We don't have a lot of time to waste Somehow we gotta find a way Somehow we gotta find a way No matter how many miles it takes I know it feels so good right now But it all comes fallin' down When the night meet the light Turn to day I wouldn't wait forever Just shoot your shot We don't need no more, no extras We all we got Yeah, yeah All the lights flickerin', hittin' the right switches I'm livin' this life different and missin' the flight bullshittin' I had a plan to change, you can't stand the rain Little delay, but I came and you're cool with it I don't trip, flip or lose my grip And I don't know it all, but I do know this Before you know me, better know yourself I've been in this shit so long that it don't smell I burn the hotel to a castle Livin' like the king for a grand I don't do nothin' that's a hassle Besides, even that castle's made of sand Just might slip into the sea Fuck it all if it all ain't me Maybe we inside the maze Somehow we gotta find a way, okay Somehow we gotta find a way No matter how many miles it takes I know it feels so good right now But it all comes fallin' down When the night meet the light Turn to day I wouldn't wait forever Just shoot your shot We don't need no more, no extras We all we got
