@@immortaltecneek most of the beats on this project come from older songs, and then we’re modified to Macs likening. This is common practice in the music industry, especially in rap. In the case of Faces, being a mixtape originally, these samples were more or less not “cleared” which means there was no payment made for using them. Considering the mixtape was free, this was not so much a problem but definitely considered a gray area legally to many. The problem arose when Mac would perform songs such as therapy on tour because he then was technically making money of said songs. Just to insert my own personal experience, I saw Mac on tour following this law suit and felt extremely blessed to hear these songs as well as therapy preformed live. Lawyers do not typically feel the same way about this in most cases loll. But to my understanding, Mac retained to right to perform the song after paying his law suit. As far as the other songs, it is just my educated guess Warner payed for and cleared the samples, as well as the Bill Murray interlude. My guess is that the other movie quotes didn’t fit in “the budget” but I’m alright with that. Aside from one or two others, the bill Murray quotes are the most stand out to me from this project. Over all super super happy all of this went through and I considered it a major success

I'm currently nearing the end of my chemotherapy treatment and man this song has helped me through the whole process and basically all of Mac's music has been doing that, he is truly a fantastic artist, I just wish I was able to tell him that his music is serving a great purpose in helping people, and to anyone out there going through similar or different situations keep your head up, stay positive, stay cool and collective; it comes a long way and the light at the end of the dark tunnel will eventually arrive, the best is yet to come.
