Mac Miller: Understanding Circles

We all have our own views on the symbolism of circles. Swimming is the companion to circles, getting nowhere, ending up at the beginning of no hope once again. We all feel like we swim in circles sometimes, right? But each time we start the circle of no hope once again, we restart our journey but.. we are not the same person.
If we take every fault we have as a learning experience, you can realize that starting over again in your circle, isn’t completely starting from square 1. Like starting a new job after getting fired after 5 years, you have an intangible skill set that you did not have last time you started your circle. Mac becomes the greatest version of himself by understanding himself among his journey through the circle.

When circles came out it felt like Mac gave me hug that everything is going to be okay. I feel like I got the comfort that I needed. This album made me look at myself and saying it’s okay that I’m not perfect. Circles is a beautiful album, it put a perfect ending to his legacy

Real shit, and listening to it now makes me feel like he recorded that in the afterlife and its so fuckin comforting and spiritual (not a word I use often) and probably only a couple other musical projects that have had a spiritual effect on me, this shit was sooo genius the saddest part is knowing that it sounds like mac found himself whole as an artist and there was absolutely no limits to his potential, fortunately we got these last 2 projects from him that ill cherish forever, blessings to the family for making sure circles was put out to his most dope family - rest in paradise my guy

Still, to the day, I am FOREVER grateful that his family and friends, gave us the album circles. They didn't have to do that. They didn't have to give us anything quite honestly. And with his parents blessing and okay, we had a great person put together this album that's so unique. Idk if it's just me or anyone else but this album, circles, felt so real. Unlike any other album he's released and songs. I felt like it was absolutely more truthful and honest than any one he's done yet. Sure he's always been truthful about the drugs but when I heard "it ain't 2009 no mo" that hit me, so fuckin hard. I'd give anything to get more music from him. He was truly a unique person and such a humble human being. Forever grateful for circles.

I feel like each time I listen to his new album - Circles, my mind clears off as well as my body, I come in feeling negative and all that anger and pain inside me it's bunching up. But as i progress through It's like a journey through life. I haven't even lived half of my life, yet I can relate to Mac's struggles and thoughts. Everyone has these down moments and that's okay, you'll eventually come out as a better person because as you said, in your own circle, in repetition you gain skills which you didn't own yet. Thank you for this heart moving video, great content!

@@ConverseWithMe Yeah that is a good lesson to be taking from his life as an example. With these 2 bonus tracks his family released today, I feel like Mac wanted to say that you can just quit the circle for a while or just forget about it time to time but you can never quit it. Just like the point you made in the video, circle won't always be perfect. I overall think that Mac touched lives of his fans in an inspirational way but also mentally give this mindset to the people, and it's honestly a beautiful mindset.

Thank you Mac Miller, I listened to your music growing up yet I didn’t realize he was just 2 years older than me. Senior skip day was the anthem in which I would drive to school every morning with friends. I not only identified myself with him in the good times, but also the bad. I also fell deeply into the bottomless pit of darkness that Is drug and alcohol addiction. His music not only gave me joy but a sense of being understood by someone else and that I wasn’t alone in this fight. I got better until something happened that thrusted my character into a complete downward dive into what I would simply describe as hell.. and out of nowhere I heard “self care” and as I saw the music video I wanted to pull him out of that coffin literally thinking “you’re killing yourself” and looked at the mirror and saw myself.. It hit me… I was killing myself.. and I need to pull myself out… I was in rehab when he passed away.. all I could think was what if I had never heard that song or seen that video that triggered me into getting help.. he was 26 and his birthday ten days from mine in the same month… I just turned 28. Sober, and genuinely happy grateful and blessed because I wasn’t supposed to see past 24. Those of you who suffer from this illness, please get help because this life no matter how ugly it gets can still be turned around into what I now call a beautiful life.. Mac again.. thank you.🙏 P.s. Fuck you Stephen Walter and James Pettit.

I can only imagine the self doubt he had to deal with being a daily heavy user of many different substances. If you read the txts from between him and his dealer the night before he died he was getting cocaine, adderall, painkillers, and xanax that night. Its also no secret he drank a lot of alcohol. He was definitely balls deep in his addictions and probably felt that there was no way out.

I read those texts n police reports too . One thing tho I was surprised he was buying these drugs in shockingly small amounts at a time (like a few grams of coca, 8 "percs" , 9 xannys etc ) . I would have imagined he'd have a top tier professional plug and would have the best of the best and would test his stuff . but he was dealing with a shady known dealer who essentially killed mac because mac thought he was buying real perc 10s but they were actually fake- pressed w fent and he only took one or two of those and he died that night . The dealer knowingly sold those fent percs to him and didnt fkn tell him . And when the a-hole heard mac died he was like "fuck I gotta skip town now lol " or something to that effect . I can bet theres other OD's he was apart of . Such a shady thing to do to not tell somebody ur selling them fake percs that were just fent . Smh
