$20k for a minute of faster timeline exporting is insane. I’m so excited for mine!
@draabuu3 жыл бұрын
You get this wrong. Mac Pro is for professionals who edit and export a ton of videos. 3-minute video: 1-minute faster, 30-minute video: 10 minutes faster, 60-minute video: 20 minutes faster. If you render 10 hours a day, you save 3.3 hours a day -> * 5 days of work = 16.6 hours a week -> 66 a month -> 800 a year, that is 33 days, you saved a whole month of life :)

I had bought a Dell AMD laptop after looking at all such fancy benchmarks. Turns out it takes forever to even open the Google Chrome browser, And takes forever even to open the start menu, even though 'It killed all the other CPUs in benchmarks at that time!" So, it is my humble suggestion/ request to all tech-reviewers doing all these benchmarks. Please cover the following questions in a simple manner, For ordinary user 1) When you plug in the old USB-peripherals like HP printer-cum-scanner models which were manufactured some 5 years ago and do not have the latest drivers at present but working fine otherwise with the windows computers, Does such devices function properly with this new macs? 2) When you plug in 21" monitors with 1080p and 1440p resolutions with VGA/Displayport inputs dongle/converters Into this machine- Does it work properly or does it give some blurry fonts effect? Because Everyone does not have the money or space to buy latest gigantic 4K monitor. 3) if the 8GB RAM is shared between CPU-GPU, how fast/better is it for Ordinary work compared to the Intel graphics-chip in laptops in dual-monitor setup- Because even though in real life often laptops struggles to work in dual monitor setup when using Google Chrome browser with online meeting/webcam-mic on? Or does every person really need to upgrade to 16GB to Get those very fast results shown /claimed by the company and reviewers? 4) Compared to HP/Dell/Lenovo laptops with SSD in similar price point- Whether this thing is faster or slower or same speed- For ordinary things like Microsoft office and web browsing? 5) Does it smoothly work with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel? 6) While using zoom online meeting, and google 'meet'- How smooth/noiseless/glitch-free it is? How noise-free is the microphone? Because, "it can edit/export the 4K videos in Final Cut Pro in very fast manner" = is not really the matter of life and death for most of the computer users across the world in general and India in particular.

@@pyti0 that is a beginner question. Just because you don’t know what that is, doesn’t mean it’s not.

Likely not, the internal SSD read speeds on these macs are around 2,500 MB/s. Most external SSDs are around 500 MB/s. And even if you had an external drive that was as fast as the mac (and had the I/O to support it), there are efficiency and speed advantages to editing off of internal storage rather than external storage. But at the same time, editing off of an external SSD, while not as fast as some other options, is plenty fast to do video editing work. Usually it's best to use whatever you have.
