Yes... thank you for a review that us "ordinary" folk can relate to. Not all of us are gamers, coders, video editors, etc. Synthetic bench marks are not a big concern to me. I wanted to get the M1 Mac Mini to replace a 10 year old pc that I use as an entertainment hub. That pc still works so anything newer will be fine in my case. The use of Chrome and peripherals are important for my scenario. Now that I know there are a few kinks to iron out, I will just hold off on the purchase.

Yea if your coming from the Macbook air, this is a huge upgrade, I started using my 13" Macbook air again and its like night and day

Can’t the Mac mini connect to two external monitors? One with thunderbolt, the other with hdmi? Appreciate the comment with the Logitech mouse. My mx3 and Mx 2 have always had poor bluetooth connectivity as in the video, with my MacBook 2015, and it’s a widely known issue with MacBooks and the Mx. I use the usb dongle that comes with it and there are no problems.

I've asked in another comment section for clarification on this and someone has stated that connection with USB-C and HDMI is possible. I am curious about the BT as well. I have a MX keys and Master 3 mouse that actually work no problem with my MBP 16. Debating on getting rid of my MBP for the mini since I don't travel with it and in hopes of still getting a decent amount back for it. I already have 2 4k LG 27 monitors. If the mini has issues with with BT 3rd party items (BT and dongle) then this will be something major to factor into my decision.

Hey Guys so to put some clarity, on this one it seems like USB-C to displayport was the issue going (or maybe its my cable) USB-C to HDMI on a second display does seem to work. Bluetooth connectivity continues to be a problem, I lost connectivity to all of my peripherals today during a work meeting the only solution was a hard restart. The Mx master 2s issue can in fact be resolve by using the dongle but attempting to avoid that due to the lack of USB ports and I would need a powered USB hub for my audio interface.

Hey about a vid you did 1 year ago. Hyper X Quadcast vs Blue yeti. I like the quadcast more because of its quality but I live with someone else so it’s not very at noise canceling. Any recommendations?

Hey there, yea for sure, ive done some videos on other microphones that can solve this very problem. My recommendations are the Rode Procaster, the Rode PodMic The shure SM7B and the RE20/320 these are mainly XLR mics so you'll need an interface and possibly a microphone activator. If you only want USB id look at the Rode Podcaster the shure MV7 or the Audio-Technica ATR2100 USB. Hope this helps!

By base I presume 8gb? I’m keen to understand how much better the 16gb is. I think with m1 the jump wouldn’t be as much as with intel

Actually I upgraded to the 16 GB of unified memory I didn't mention it because I was saving it for the full review. And yea Im with you, I still feel like my 16" Macbook Pro has the edge but I need to do some more testing

What is the performance in GUI scaling? on 4k monitor ?

Howdy, so far on my 4K 60hz panel the scaling has been pretty good, it actually performs better then my AMD powered 16" macbook pro in that regards. However that doesn't translate to overall performance. video on that coming out real soon

I don't know why I thought this would work lol, I installed Docker desktop and of course "one of the sub-processes failed: com.docker.driver.amd64-linux -addr fd:3 -debug (pid: 1314)" luckily I do most of that dev work in the cloud but this could be a blocker for lots of my work.

yea for sure, I'm running into a ton of trouble with apps that I normally use it's gonna take lots of time but for now its a broken platform
