Hi, have the same card installed and my 5.1 sees the card in system report, but no network is showing up. what could be wrong? Monterey installed with opencore. Thanks!

Nice video. Am pretty sure you could have used the bluetooth connector that goes into the old bluetooth card to connect to the adapter card. That way you could have used the 'other' supplied cable to connect the red/black connector to the adapter and then run the other end to the connector that came out of the old bluetooth card. Leaving the short connection to the logic board in-place. Soldering computer connections is a no-no for 90%+ of viewers.

Everything is straight forward here except for connecting the little gold antenna connections! If you damaged the male end of the antenna gold connects that lead off into the chassis, what can you do? How do you know if they are damaged? I spent several hours trying to connect mine and the more I tried the looser the connections came so that they always fell off when I twisted the board upside down so that it would plug in.

Ah I see you switched to the wireless ESD strap after pulling out the processing board Woopsi :P

@@Dust599 Well to use a ESD strap both the strap and the grounding wire is required. From when he pulled out the Processor board out to the end of video he does not wear the ground wire. So to throw the ball back. You might want to get your eyes looked at ;-)

@@decee1157 asi said at the beginning, my bench is ESD protected, once I had the processor and ram board out I felt fine about not using the strap, as the bench is earthed, and I was constantly touched and resting my hands/arms on the casing.

I had a real problem with the Touchdeck and could not get it to connect with any Broadcom dongles. only success was with a Realtek RTL8761B and TRL drivers. Everything else would connect to the Broadcom just chip fine, but the software in the Touchdeck just screwed with the Broadcom drivers. it would see it but then just fail to connect. I did video on it "FreeTouchDeck update" Hope you get it working soon

considering how tedious the job is its wiser to remove the cpu housing. its like working thru a key hole otherwise. lol
