I came from a pretty racist family who I always felt like an outsider to because I couldn't understand their ways. As a teenager I became OBSESSED with Selena and learned to speak Spanish fluently as a result of her life, her legacy and her music 💜 I now work helping others as a bilingual roadside assistance dispatcher and have also used my skills to interpret for those needing medical attention, in court and to help mothers apply for benefits for their children. I am now a mother to 4 beautiful Hispanic children who have really opened several of my family members eyes to the culture. I am passionate about educating others about immigrants. I never really thought about what all inspired my love for this culture until you asked. It all started with Selena 💜 I know I already told my story on your IG for the giveaway, but I wanted to share here as well because she made such an impact on my life and I can't say that enough 💜

I first found out about Selena in highschool, early 2000s, and I bought up her music and taught myself her songs, purchased her last concert on DVD, and just really grew to love her. She had such a beautiful smile and personality, and of course VOICE...if only she were here today, gosh, I can't imagine how much she would have grown! I wish I had known about this collection before it went out of stock :( 25 years, Selena (and Quintanilla family), and her legacy lives on beautifully. MAC really needs to stop with all the limited edition crap. In regard to Selena, her collections sell out in seconds, and there's so many of us who would use these items regularly and repurchase when we run out. They are classic colors - why can't they just be in the permanent collection??? After 25 years, I think Selena has proved herself to not be going anywhere! It's maddening to go on the site to try to buy some and it's sold out immediately. I would like to buy that makeup bag too, but of course, never even had a chance to add it to my cart. Selena wouldn't treat her fans like that. And we all know "limited edition" is just a marketing ploy - there's not a shortage of ingredients to make the products.

I love her music I was able to see her in Pueblo, Colorado at our state fair about 6 months before she passed away. What an amazing performance she gave I didn’t want it to end. She sang from her heart ❤️ you could feel it when you watched her.

Lovely video dulce 💜 I saw Selena 2 weeks before she was killed at a school jamboree I was 13 ish but back then it was no big deal to see her, she was everywhere here in San Antonio doing something, one of her boutiques was here, I saw her at the Tejano music awards another year, she was at fiesta all the time, she was at the Tejano clubs. so when she died, here in San Antonio it was a crushing blow.. the city wept. First of all I’m so happy you made this video! It’s so fun to see what the new collection has and for you to show the the little details💜 I was just a baby when Selena passed but I was always reminded of her story by my cousins and my sister growing up. During the summers I would visit my family in the Midwest and I distinctly remember my first memory of Selena was during one of those trips. I must have been 5 or 6 and all my cousins and my sister were around the tv at my grandmas house watching the movie Selena, and it was the scene where she was preforming Bidi Bidi Bom Bom in front of the audience and I started dancing to the music. Since then she’s just become so much more to me, as a trailblazer, as a chicana and as a role model! To this day she still an inspiration to me and she always will. And you’re so right about the last concert at the astrodome. The vibe and the all songs on that album-I listen to it when I work out and I don’t slow down🙈 to be honest it still feels like she’s here, and that’s what I love about her fan base-we won’t let her fade💜

Selena is one of my music idols, because she exudes confidence, yet she was always humble & down to earth about her success in her music career, plus create her own kick ass signature style, too. It’s cool to see a woman, who is about my age, who followed her heart & dreams. I wish that I followed my dreams of becoming an actress & singer, after I graduated from high school. I’m sure that if Selena is alive today, & we had a conversation about me going after my dreams to be in show business, I’m sure that she’d say something like, “Hermanita, it’s never to late to go after all of your dreams later in life.
