That depends, some people find easier learn the macaco first then the back walkover, because the macaco you can slow down your way in to it!with the back walkover once you start to reach for the floor and kick the leg around is much harder to slow your self down when you learning!! hope that helped !

So their are many ways to learn the mocaco i thought it was just one ive been practicing this move for about a 2 months and i think im afraid of going backwards and landing on my head any tips ?

The real macaco i know is that you head nearly touch the ground while you swing your body smoothly and always always the face in front i mean you could stop seeing the other person but for a few seconds or millisecond while your body moves very smoothly...

no it's not wrong there is different ways of doing it,as long as your leg is coming over you head and not around the side the macao is right...i think doing the way your are doing is harder to learn, bur if you can do it already don't change,there are loads of people that does your way as well...

Thanks for this tutorial... i have a request, can you make some tutorial showing some exercices to strengthen the middle part of the body, i think this is the problem i have cause i can't maintain my legs on the air and hence i loose balance (same case for handstand)..

Hey Fabio. Currently I am struggling with the kickover in the back walkover and my Macaco is more sideways and one-handed. In about 3:04 of the video, your kickover looks so smooth. Any suggestions for me on the kickover, please? Because it looks to me like once I get that kickover my Macaco will be straight too. Valeu.

Thank you for this upload. I just tried to do it in my apt. and was so close, but due to space constraints I kicked my couch and I could not quite get it...I will start trying to do this in my training outside tomorrow morning, and do my best to do it right... You make this look so easy, but I know it is not easy as I think, nor is it as hard.

still trying to learn it its soo damn hard for me ,im training in Capoeira Camangula in Poland , most of people seying to me i doing it wrong and i should jump witch 2 legs , and in the air the legs splits ,but this way is more harder for me ,and i really dont know which maccaco in capoeira is correct , starting jumping witch two legs or leg oposit to hand places on the ground ? im confused

There is no correct Maccaco, from Group to group it is different, and you have a lot of variacions. Teach the easyest way and then do some more complicate.
