I decided to pull out my old Betty Crocker cookbook and make something for me and my daughter's lunches for work, and of course, dinner too! Anyway, I did change it up a bit though with my secret ingredient. I'll add it in the recipe below. I'm putting the recipe below the way I made it. Hope you enjoy! Be blessed! #food
MACARONI & CHEESE (with SECRET ingredient)
1 lb. cooked macaroni
4 TBSP Butter & Flour
1/2 C chopped onion
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
4 Cups Whole Milk
1 lb grated Cheese (I used EXTRA SHARP)
2 Cups (or thereabouts) of pureed Cauliflower
Directions:
Heat oven to 375*
Melt butter in frying pan and add onions. Saute' til they are soft and translucent, then add flour and cook while stirring for about 2 mins.
Pour in your milk while whisking. Once it starts to bubble, whisk in the cheese.
Once the cheese is smooth and blended then add your cauliflower and stir til completely mixed.
Add your macaroni and stir til macaroni is fully coated.
Put in a greased baking pan (around 9x13...not sure though because mine didn't have the measurements).
Put 2 Tbsp butter in a pan and melt with about 1/4-1/2 C Panko bread crumbs.
Sprinkle Panko/butter mixture over macaroni then more cheese over that (however much you'd like).
Put in 375* oven for 30 mins.
Take out and let cool for about 15/20 mins.
Then...Eat! Enjoy!!!
