Yes had that crap Macbook in repair recently and i wondered why it's too hot but now we know. That fan doesn't make any sense it's just a passiv cooling system with a fake fan to introduce a legendary thin Macbook Air with actually a cooking CPU and Airplane fan :)

I have one that just starts, makes the chime and then reboots. Internet recovery is possible however after finishing it also reboots. Any idea?

Dude what’s the point in this when u just need to replace the ram with a different one that might be laying around since u probably fixed other laptops. That will trick the computer and erase the firmware lock screen. Cheers..?
