I have the midnight blue for two weeks now - using every day and the fingerprints are not a big deal. They are minor. Don't let the reviews scare you. It's a beautiful color.

@@vladimirkr1285 It has now been a month. And not seeing any scratches. I purchased a clear case (always have kept my laptops in cases) which helps. The inner surface does not show much fingerprint. I looked closely and even felt silly examining the port sites to convince myself there were no scratches. I am very happy with this color and stand by my original review. It's has not bothered me and I like my stuff looking nice.

word of warning - if you rest your palms on the palm rest while you type then you could likely see noticeable wear in just under a year! I was shocked how worn my was just over a year and my hands don't get sweaty or oily!

Space Grey may be common, but almost everyone will be buying Midnight so you're buying a common colour anyway if you're going with Midnight.

Courier just came to collect my midnight Macbook Air M2. Initially was willing to put up with the fingerprints but it got too much hassle cleaning the casing after each use. Have had many macbooks over the years in silver, space grey and gold. For me, the space grey is too common and whilst it still looks great, have decided to order the starlight. My previous macbook air m1 was gold and adored it, so starlight for me is a happy medium.

I was thinking of ordering the space gray, but then I saw all colors in store and went with midnight. The darker color puts more focus on the screen and looks more low profile. I think a brighter color would be more distracting to me than fingerprints.

Good job! I purchased the Midnight Blue and while it can be a finger print magnet it isn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. I don't find the finger prints to be that big of a deal. I think the midnight if taken care of will hold up very well. I do really like the classic silver, which is what I always get. However, this Midnight I just love it.

I always thought I wanted midnight. I went to the Apple Store to get one and started second guessing myself when I saw space gray. Nonetheless, I got midnight and ended up exchanging it for space gray. I didn't like the sharp contrast between the dark body (that at home looked inky black) and lit screen, even at lower brightness, or the lack of contrast with the keys. Space gray has been more comfortable to use. I guess I'm getting older. My eyes see things differently than they did in my 20s and early 30s. Probably would have been happy with silver too. My wife has starlight and loves it. I can now say we are cosmically linked starlight + space gray.

Your mentioning comfort is a good point. The contrast between black keys and the light body of my old gold macbook is very tidy and not like you are reaching towards a dark pit with keys. Am updating, love the midnight except for the darkness issue, and the starlight /gilver is a watered down version of my old gold. At least it is warm. Note: in 7 years fingerprints were NEVER an issue on my old gold. So I'm not sure whether to relie on my experience or go for a blue that I love, as a color fiend😉?

I love the midnight and the gold colour. I just can’t stand the paint chipping off near the ports for midnight though. I slap a case on my laptops so the fingerprints wouldn’t be the issue. The gold colour is gorgeous but the silver matched my iPad Pro, so I went with silver. I always end up getting the silver laptops and iPads, and darker iPhones😅

I was shocked when I had to admit that sometimes it looks like it came out of the household of hard smokers or from the cellar after a tornado with chemical weapons. It is still really marvelous color but I do believe ill change it for space grey. Just don't want to have any thought that it looks worn or like a menu in a cheap spanisch restaurant that its damaged by the sunlight. Midnight is overrated. It's fingerprint magnet and the color is chipping (mostly around USB ports). Also the scratches are going to be a lot more visible after everyday use unlike on silver.

Thanks for the video. For future reference, it would be helpful to have the colors annotated on screen when showing them so that the viewer can differentiate. For instance, in those outside shots with the warmer sunlight where you showed one at a time, it was hard to tell which color I was looking at.

Personally, I would only consider midnight or silver. Midnight, of course, because of how cool it is. But if you're someone who really gets bothered by fingerprints and you don't want to be wiping it off every once in a while, thats where silver comes in. I would choose silver over starlight because it just looks way better. It's different from the silver in the older models, it's the same silver as the 2021 MacBook Pros. Starlight just looks like a sadder, grayer version of the silver, as opposed to "gold".

excellent , thank you , I had on pre-order the Midnight and after seeing it at the Apple store all the finger prints that accumulate, I changed to the Starlight, they had at the store and looks really nice , no matter what color you choose, looks like we will not be disappointed

Did the same. Just ordered my MacBook Air M2 in Starlight. Midnight was my first choice but in store the Starlight looked so much more sleek and clean looking. Hope I made the right colour choice thou. 🤔

Midnight is really beautiful. But the fingerprint situation would get to me for sure. I have Ordered the midnight online for picking at the store. When i came in the store i just swapped to the starlight. Its beautiful!!! The silver and soace grey are also amazing, but i do own a 2011 (still alive) silver macbook pro and another MacBook pro space grey so I did want something different. Do not regret it. The starlight is unique

I love the Midnight color, but that color is undoubtedly going to be a fingerprint magnet and I’d be worried about scratches. Especially, on a MacBook. I just bought an M1 Pro MacBook Pro in Silver a few weeks ago and I wouldn’t trade it. It’s gorgeous. I’d love to see Midnight make its way over to the iPhone 14 Pro though. I’d definitely upgrade from my Pacific Blue iPhone 12 Pro for that.

I used to have a MacBook Pro 17" I loved that computer, I wish they would do a 17" MacBook pro again or a 17" air would be wild.
