It’s 2025 & the M4 Mac’s are out but I bought an Intel 2019 16 inch Mac on back market recently even though it was more affordable than the silicon models should I send it back & get an M2 Mac too hopefully last me like 4 more years or just keep the Intel Mac for a year then upgrade? To the M2/M3 & hope for a bargain? I was also thinking of getting an M2 iPad Pro. I do music production/recording, content creation etc..

As you said video editing drastically downgrades my battery backup time in a day, i am confused i have two options either m1 air with gb ram or i9 specked up 16 inches, 16 inches screen estate is amazing because of the sheer size, m1 air base model is how much faster than this i9, how much performance am i gaining or loosing choosing either of these, main software i use is fcp, need to edit 4k iphone footages and occasional 10 bit footage from a camera but mostly 8 bit , m1 pros are beast i do agree, but in the second hand market i am getting these models in a similar price range,i do own a 13 inch macbook pro 2012 i edit my small instagram reel in 4k without any issue, but i would like more screen if possible but i how much am i loosing in this.

I9 should be still very good for video editing the only difference is it sucks up more battery life than m1 or m2

@@aznsensation44 recommendations for iphone 4k 60fps video editing with some color correction, and 1 or 2 overlays, subtitles few transitions mostly projects under 5 mins or less, m1 macbook air or 16 inches i9 or 16 inches i7 2019, screen size does keeps me leaning towards the mbp16 but with the m1 mba how much performance am i getting if the dont go for the 16 inches for my kind of workflow, will it heat for my kind of workflow, thank you

Is it a good laptop for programming? have you Faced any extreme Thermal issues?

Not really I think it's solid choice for programming

What are some scenario that the fans kick in? Browsing youtube in Chrome makes the fan spin?

not really. That's not enough to make the fans spin. For me, running NodeJS servers or nginx or virtual machines while also having a bunch of chrome tabs running will do it though..

@ ok that just my concern, because i have an 8gb MBP 2015, i opened youtube or twotch and then the fan would spin up. Nice to know that this MBP of yours doesnt do that.
