Thank you, I was able to fix our monitor with your help. MAYBE I could have figured it out myself, but it would have been much harder.

The video was helpful. I would add one comment: I “stripped” some Wi-Fi antennae screws. Or so I thought. On mine it turned out the Wi-Fi antennae screws were P1 not p2, though every video I watched said p2, so before drilling and using screw extractors I would recommend giving a p1 a try. I am sure they changed the screw type on some models

Thanks for a detailed, clear video. I had no problem following the instructions, but those Wi-Fi antenna P2 screws strip so easily. Was very cautious during this part and still ended up stripping 11 out of 16. 20 min replacement is turning into a small nightmare. Been using the drilling method from your stripped screws video, but thankfully I have 3 and 2 intact on either side so hopefully it’ll work 😅

It should be possible to use an external monitor with the base and leave the screen disconnected right? Even the wifi should still work as it does not depend on the screen. Is that correct?

Great video!!! How did you get the screen to work without calibration with the Lid Angle Sensor? I was told that you had to have it calibrated by Apple only configurator. Otherwise it would perform oddly, not come out of sleep etc.

Im interested as well, changed the screen on an a2141 but all i get is a black screen (backlight works), external monitor works too.

I used this guide, no issue with the lid angle sensor. No odd behavior, sleep works as expected.

Just replaced screen by your instructions but computer wont power up even though its connected to power. I have looked at video a couple of times to see if I missed anything but did everything exactly as you have it on your video. Any suggestions would be great thanks

Apple’s T2 chip may prevent aftermarket displays from working correctly, and your MacBook Pro may not boot as a result.

Perhaps you could steer me in the right direction with what might be wrong. Same model. Powers on. Touch Bar works, screen shows a dark black to bright black when I adjust brightness. 2nd display connection works. But black screen on the retina. I popped off back, tried re-housing video cable, and screen sleep cable. Both seemed fine. Slight bit of coffee was in there from a spill months ago

Thank you very much for this video. You progress at an excellent speed and explain everything clearly. I damaged my hard drive management ribbon cable while attempting to follow another video. My macbook survived being dropped off a table last week, but the screen broke because i closed it gently with the arm of my glasses between the screen and the keyboard. UNBELIEVABLE. Thanks Question thought. Do you need to remove the 16 screws on the wifi antenna. The other video, he onl;y removed 2 screws at the top near the middle as opposed to 16. But the part removed was larger.. The other video is here (kzbin.info/www/bejne/gH61hqyZn9qskKcsi=1pF4JTiy2e3TM4VF). I hope its ok to post it. (02:15 - 02:25)

you must have skipped over 0:30 where in one step he removes all the antenna screws!
