Sorin is the greatest teacher for amateur electronics lovers. Each video is a story in itself, it is simple and logical. Thank you for your effort and time, Mr. Sorin
@PaulHigginbothamSr2 жыл бұрын
If you watch about 50 Louis Rossman videos, which are only about Apple MacBook, you will learn all the rails, voltages, and likely fault locations. As Sorin does, they both go to liquid damage, while Louis just mass replaces all parts with liquid damage, Sorin does not have an enormous pile of dead Macbooks which Louis buys. A bunch of replacement component boards. Apple started getting sneaky and evil by marrying components on the board so you can't just replace a hard drive or graphics chip forcing evil electronic waste so you have to buy more new stuff. Just completely evil like Putin, murdering innocent people he thinks somehow he owns, the bastid.

Many Macbook repair specialists like Paul Daniels or even Louis Rossmann reball this tiny 1.4 x 0.9 mm BGA load switch before soldering it back on the logic board. Excellent and fast job Sorin. You're the man.

But as u know they will not fix it without schematic and board views. Also im sure they're resoldering that just on camera otherwise its skipped
@asv57693 жыл бұрын
@@tomicekgrundicek5131 Probably, but on the other hand, they charge for board repair 300 USD+, therefore, perhaps they indeed include full treatment of the board.
@roseelectronics45823 жыл бұрын
A lot of the extra care we give to these boards really have no meaning in quality-wise. Different techs go different ways. Some even solder chips on top of the old solder. It's basically the same. It's always good to go the long way but the point is arguable.

Hi Sorin. Its been a while since I watched your videos. 4 years ago, I spent 1 whole year going over your videos 1 by 1 digesting all your ideas, your shared experiences when it comes to repair and electronics. Ive learned a lot. Thank you. Now I can share you a little bit of knowledge when it comes to macbook. I have resources of those stuffs. Macbook schematics and boardview.. The idea of macbook is that it starts with the power rail PPBUS_G3H. This is the main power supply rail coming from its charging ic or U7000 After the adapter. Next is the PP3V42_G3H WHICH is the rail responsible for the green light. I can share to you my stocked knowledge in macbook. 😊😊 By the way, that model is prone for lcd issues, image issues etc.. that is fixable as long as its not a faulty lcd.

Sorin, I added this repair to the Repair Wiki (repair.wiki/w/A1502_2013-2014_13%E2%80%9D_MacBook_Pro_Retina). Please make sure when doing Mac repairs that you fully state the board number and MacBook model. The A1502 has models from 2013-14 and 2015 (2 different motherboards). It will help to know the exact motherboard model in future. Thanks!
@GregM3 жыл бұрын
Two words if you are repairing Macbooks. Open source OpenBoardview or it's commercial version FlexBV along with boardview files helps to trace circuits in MacBooks. Neither software comes with the boardview files. I repeat neither OpenBoardView nor FlexBV come with the boardview files for Macbooks. You need to use Google to search for the model of the motherboard to find the boardview files.

Its hard to repair device without the schematic but replacing chip without basic test is not the smartest way, even that chip which was bad. Also you should change all corroded resistors as in one day that corrosion will eat rest of the pad. Think about quaility of your repair. It wasn’t great job but I’m impressed anyway about that you was able figure it out and fix that logic board without schematic, boardview or thermal camera. Don’t treat that comment as a hate
