that was confusing to me too because when i bought a second hand SSD it had no OS installed so i had to use a bootable usb with snow leopard on it, then upgrade to el capitan and then make the bootable usb with open core legacy patcher for Monterey. I have seen other youtubers clone the new SSD before putting it in the macbook so everything is on the SSD before even installing the new SSD in the macbook.

Details of ram installed pls. Hard to find ddr3 1066mhz. Could I use 1300/1600mhz instead

@@lBatJanl Had the same problem. After I put every SoDimm I have in every combination possible I can tell you: 1333 MHz and 5 V is the only thing that works. So it can not be DDR3L and the frequency can be at most 1333 MHz, you can not go as high as 1600 MHz.

Hello mate, is it ussable for chrome/safari netflix and sync with iphone 11 and iPod nano ? :) d2d ssd and 8gb ram, i can but it for about 180euro. Is it Worth? :)

Chome/Safari and Netflix (via web browser) were ok. And no problem syncing with iPhone 7. I can’t tell about iPhone 11 and iPod cause I got none of ’em. I got Mojave installed and everything is running fine. I’v spent a total of IDR 700k for the SSD and 2x4GB RAM (it’s around 50 Euro) so, 180 Euro is rather expensive, I’d say. Especially when u can’t do anything 3D on that machine even after those upgrades, bc the VGA is a non-Metal Graphic. Cheers!
