Hi there, I have a question. After the upgrade is done, do erase the old drive? Also, before beginning the upgrade process do you turn off things from within apps such as icloud, itunes account and such?
@revanvonheaven82702 жыл бұрын
HI you can use Aeomi Backuper or Balena Etcher to clone the drive to a 2,5 inch sata and then clone it back when you have done partitioning and formating the new drive otherwise you have to reinstall the Mac OS that way you do not loose any data!.

great video. i have one question tho, i can easily swap a faster SSD (my stock SSD isnt fast enough) BUT my pci slots only allow up to 2gb/s so im only going to be increasing speed by 25% tops. is there ANY way to upgrade my pci at all? it seems sort of pointless to be able to put a faster SSD in if i cant even make the speeds go up. i am def not buying a new gen macbook lol (slate gray, ew)

Just liked and subbed and a big thank you... I bought an Intel 660p 2 TB with adapter... it all fits but I had no idea I had to get a boot usb... that's arriving tomorrow hopefully. At present it got my to the utility screen with the options you had but I could not do anything at all and could not see my disk. So back to the drawing board... and will try to follow your instructions but with the intel.... If that does not work then my son gets the 2tb 660p and I have to buy a Samsung lol. do you feel my intel will work?

Wait... I just bought a brand new MacBook Pro with 512GB SSD, 16GB Ram, and Apple M1 Pro 10 core with 16 core GPU... I bought this model because I have a 1TB EVO pro 970 at the house. Are you telling me that I cannot upgrade my SSD? I do have an external enclosure for an M.2 NVME drive but will I be able to get the same speeds over USB C? This kinda pisses me off. That's just one more thing I have to lug around and plug into my Mac. I already have to have dongles for every damned USB/HDMI port. This shit is getting wild. Why would they solder the damned SSD to the board? Ram and SSD should ALWAYS be user upgradeable. This is stupid AF. Mac needs to chill out on right to repair/upgrade.
