5:22 - As you stated, there were comics released before Episode II in which Mace is portrayed using his older sabre. In the Jedi Power Battles video-game Mace also uses his older blue sabre. The Episode I visual dictionary also shows Mace's original sabre hilt, which is the one we see in the action figures and other media. The re-colour of the Republic comics is just ridiculous taking into account what I said about even the Visual Dictionary showing Mace's older sabre hilt, and if I'm not wrong, in the Obi-Wan video-game for the Xbox, which is arround a certain time span that also touches upon Episode I, during which Obi-Wan isn't yet a Jedi, only a Padawan, we actually see Mace in that game but he's using his purple sabre. This was released in 2001 but doesn't make sense to give him a purple sabre at the time as it didn't conflict with Episode I before but actually conflicts with the comics, Jedi Power Battles, figures and other Expanded Universe material that came before. Before Episode II there weren't really limits on what sabre colours Jedi could be depicted using, so a number of Jedi High Council members and other lower ranking Jedi in media before 2002 are depicted with purple, orange, yellow, etc sabres. The retcon of specifically using only blue and green was a thing during the production of Episode II but later after the conclusion of the prequels they decided to go easier on it again, that's why in TCW you see, for example, Jedi using yellow sabres sometimes. Green and blue are definitely the most popular but lore-wise the other colours are more reserved to certain individuals, certain roles or factions. The change in lightsabres or lightsabre colours between Episodes I and II can also be explained in-universe: either characters changing sabres, changing crystals, dual phase sabres, the Jedi not wanting to be confused with the re-emerging Sith and so on and so forth.

Even though I'm pretty sure he's dead, I'm open for Mace Windu to return. He'd be a great "antagonist" to Darth Vader if he had a movie or series. Like he has to hunt a reported Jedi and finds out that it's a corrupted Dark Side Mace Windu or something.

If you want a decent Mace Windu story, check out the brickfilm "Windu Returns". It explores what happened to Mace after his battle with Palpatine and his impromptu exile in the Coruscant underworld. It's on KZbin, and it's some great stuff. I highly recommend it.

Maybe Mace Windu did canonically have a blue lightsaber in Episode I? He could have gotten his purple one sometime in the 10 year period between episodes I and II.

​@@StarWarsLight1138I wonder if you can do a video on the rumors about the JJ Abrams cut of Rise of Skywalker. As part of it I would recommend bringing up a third version of the rumored cut I found on a Reddit post called Details of the JJ CUT by ReleaseTheJJ, who claims the cut was indeed real. Interestingly alot of the information in it does match up with what we heard in internet articles, the novel, and the rumors. Here is what I can collaborate on. 1. I did hear that it was considered that the duel between Luke and Leia was planned for the opening at one point. 2. There was a longer version of Kylo Ren's attack on Mustifar. There is also a photo of Hux an Pride together though the article says it's on a shuttle but the photo is on the planet itself. There's also the Eye of Webbish Bog scene that we know was filmed. It does also mention Luke trying to talk to Kylo Ren to go home to Leia which was in the Duel of the Fates version. 3. I did read on Wikipedia, with articles even attached that Matt Smith was going to play a character called The Acolyte. Here is what it said "Early rumors from Making Star Wars claimed Smith was set to portray a "dark side acolyte" who gets possessed by Palpatine." Now these were rumors and we don’t know if this was really true though the articles mention of it is interesting. 4. Rose was to have more scenes at the base where she was to be the audiences eyes and ears as we see what is happening due to the situation. An example were scenes with her interacting with Rey which are in the novel. There were also scenes with her and Leia that weren't finished and one of the cast said that were indeed more scenes of her fighting on Exogol. 5. There is a photo of the Knights of Ren behind Kylo Ren as he puts the mask back on, so it is possible the scene of them returning the pieces of the helmet was there. 6. I did hear that the subplot of Lando's daughter and that Jannah was indeed her daughter was going to be expanded upon. 7. Klaud was in a concept poster as Movies Remastered discussed (whether it's real or not we don't know) and there were more screenshots of him in scene’s that weren’t in the final film so he may have had a larger role at one point. 8. We know there is a scene where Kylo Ren tortures Chewbacca. 9. The thing about Finn being force sensitive was going to be confirmed and expanded upon. 10. According to one of the articles on the Matt Smith Acolyte rumors there was going to be a duel between the Acolyte as well as Rey and Ben in the final battle. 11. The Duel of the Fates version had a ending with a similar idea as the one mentioned here with out hero's training a new generation of Jedi though there are differences too like Ben being there somehow and Rey seeing him. But unfortunately I can't see anything saying it was going to be part of the ending of the final film or not. 12. The novelization did seem to have a scene between Leia and Maz that incorporated the deleted scene from The Force Awakens where Maz gives Leia Luke’s/Anakin's lightsaber. 13. The novel also included an introduction for Pryde and Hux. 14. The Duel of the Fates Draft also had Luke talking to Kylo Ren as a ghost. 15. The novel also included a scene where Finn attempts to tell Rey what he wanted to tell her again only for her to tell her she knows, though it's alot more detailed in the post. So that is what I can collaborate on but there is also stuff that counterdicts it. 1. According to Wikipedia JJ Abrams said that he was happy that Palpatine's inclusion wasn't leaked as his scenes were already filmed and it is even said it was considered for The Force Awakens. Though some do wonder why we didn't see him in the trailers and while he is in the poster it was apparently a toy uses, though I think it was to hide his decayed form when we finally see him in the film. 2. Daisy Ridley said that the developers went back and forth between the Palpatine thing and someone else. Whether or not this was based on one of those ideas I don’t know. 3. Apparently the idea of Rey taking the name Skywalker was planned by JJ Abrams since 2014 as mentioned in a Screenrant article about a video on KZbin. The article is called "JJ Abrams' Original Rise of Skywalker Story (& Problems) Uncovered". In fact they talk about another possibility for JJ Abrams original vision for Episode 9 in it. 4. Bradley Dee Baker said in an interview recently months ago that it was always intended to just have Jannah's connections to Lando be hinted it with potential later stories expanding it. 5. It doesn't bring up the gay stuff between Poe and Finn when we know that it was going to be part of the plan and I remember reading another comment and a different post on Reddit that Episode 9 may had been planned to go a step further and indicate Poe was bisexual since while it would be confimred he has feelings for Finn, he would still be with Zori Bliss in the end and Finn would allow it. Personally I think they would have probably started a nice polyamorous relationship or even a throbble after that. 6. I can't find anything on an early version of Hux’s death where Kylo Ren is the one that kills him. That's all I have for now but I may have more comparions latter on. I will say though I am wondering if the longer fight between Klyo Ren and Rey that was featured in the version of Episode 9 from latest Lego Star Wars game as well as the appearance of BB-E9 in that same game was based on any deleted scenes or just added for the game. Anyway I hope you like this and I am curious if this is worth making a video about. I understand if yoy don't want to do this and I respect that decision. Let me know what you think about it.
