So cool you dive into Norwegian artists. 👍 The voices...well, it has to be the clear Norwegian water and the mountain breeze 😉 There are many really good artists here. You need to react to Susanne Sundfør with «The Brothel». That song is so amazing and her live performances are incredible. Another unique Norwegian artist is Bernhoft (Jarle Bernhoft). He is/was a one man band (extremely good at looping and his voice is fantastic). He has been on the Ellen Show. Nowadays I think he has put his looping days behind him, but he is still so so good. He was actually nominated for a US Grammy some years ago. Try fex «C’mon talk» or «Choices» and «Sunday» (loop) and «Stay with me», «Come around», «Falter» where he sings without the loop. He was earlier the lead singer of a Norwegian rock band. It would bec cool if you reacted to him, cause I promise you he is unique (and very groovy) 😉 Ruben is another Norwegian male artist you should check out. I have allready recommended other Norwegian female artists in another video (Dagny, Astrid S, Ina Wroldsen).

Norwegians aren't scared to drop hard F bombs. Sigrid and Amanda Delara drop em into pure pop music. And on Wild One Emilie says "He's a wild horse I'll ride him good, tame that motherfucker..." Cause she's a badass.

Emilie Nicolas released her debut single “Pstereo” in 2013, and made an immediate impact on the Norwegian music scene. Her debut album Like I’m a warrior (2014) was released shortly after, and went straight to number one on the Norwegian album chart. She went on receiving two Spellemann awards (Norwegian Grammy) as well, in the categories Best new artist and Best pop act. A part from “Pstereo”, all the songs on Like I’m a warrior are written and co-produced by Emilie herself. Following the release of her very first album, Emilie went on touring Norway and Europe. With a unique textual universe, a great sense of melody and an intriguing stage presence - she captivated audiences everywhere, and was considered one of Norway’s most exciting and promising pop acts. Amid all these positive events, Emilie suddenly went quiet. Illness (brain tumor surgery)forced her to take a break from music and limelight. In 2018 Emilie returned, with the album Tranquille Emile. It received rave reviews and two Spellemann Awards in the categories Best album and Best Pop Act. She went on touring the album extensively, culminating in two sold-out nights at the 1400-capacity Oslo Opera House in October 2019 In the spring of 2020 a brand new album is due for release. Emilie Nicolas' third album finds her experimenting even further within the unique brand of electronic pop she's forged over the past 5 years. Uniting elements of pop, R&B and electronica - all wrapped in the sensibility of jazz - her new material succinctly captures despair, unbridled joy, and the desire to dance. "I think it’s an album that shows some new sides of me. I hope it makes you want to dance, and at the same time provides moments of calm, warmth and reflection," Emilie says.

I feel fine lyrics [Verse 1] I won't look at you the same way again, ah Some of my joy and then my pain The need to fucking take all my clothes off To harden my soul, soft We shivered, we laughed, you held me down Then you vanished in front of my eyes This was all in paradise [Verse 2] I'm such a loser, can't keep anything, ah I do whatever for my lover But he slips through my tired hands, oh I see it's clear we're over You only get one chance [Chorus] I wanna feel fine, wooh The right walls to come down But they won't fall on its own, ah The right won't [Verse 2] Alone again with demons, and pain whiling Guess that's why you left my island It's too rough out here, the island's drowning So I grabbed to whatever was breathing out of the water You drown first, this is cursed You only get one chance (You only get one chance) [Chorus] I wanna feel fine, wooh The right walls to come down But they won't fall on its own, ah The right won't [Bridge] Is there a soul there? Is there a soul there? [Chorus] I wanna feel fine, wooh The right walls to come down But they won't fall on its own, ah The right won't [Verse 3] Is there a soul there? Is there a soul there? Somewhere I could feel safe? Is there a soul there? Is there a soul there?

You seem to really be liking the norwegian music, so here are some other norwegian music you might like: Ane Brun, Sivert Høyem/Madrugada, Bendik, Razika, Karpe Diem, Lars Vaular, Kaizers Orchestra, Girl in red, Razika, Fay Wildhagen. Also Aurora, Sigrid and Susanne Sundfør have tons more songs you could check out

It is interesting to see the great cultural difference there is in North America and Northern Europe. I think the biggest threat you North Americans can experience, bigger than a nuclear war, is to hear the curse and see natural nudity on TV, shooting and violence is ok. We do not raise an eyebrow if we hear a curse or see a naked woman's chest on national TV. So that is why something that is censored in North American television can be seen as quite natural in Scandinavia and northern Europe in particular. Just a friendly thought put into perspective. 😊😊😊👍

By far my favorite new artist - Heard her about 2 years ago and been mesmerized ever since. Naïve, Feel Fine, Grown Up all fantastic! Her best song in my opinion (A cover of Bloom - P3 Spanderer ??) has been removed from KZbin (Don't know why) Hope she performs in the U.S. some time soon, would love to see Live in concert. Incredible high end vocals and her band seems to put the perfect mix out there for her!

Ane Brun is a great Norwegian artist. She is Bjork’s favorite vocalist and honored her with a beautiful version of “Joga” at the Polar Music Prize Awards. Look that up, too. But here is a recent performance. Ane is actually Sami, a distinct people who live in the northern regions of, but are not defined by the borders of :Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Russia. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nmanZ596mriGq5o

I am looking forward to see more reactions on Emilie Nicolas. I may have missed some if you have done them already. She has a fantastic, new album called Let Her Breathe. She has a release party video with 5 tunes from that album. Her two first, Outro (only 1,5 minutes long) followed by Tsunami are both amazing beautiful. She sings with such a soul and perfection. The following tunes are fantastic as well and the video is a clear "Again and again and again and again" experience. Can't stop listen to her. I recommend you to have a look into it:) Or you can "send" her over to Adam, who I also follow

The Norwegians breed angel voices like it's their job! You're right, the swear word was very jarring.
@Scartomuffin4 жыл бұрын
The use here is a verb, not swearing as in "fuck you" or the likes. Even tho, that wouldnt have raised an eyebrow in norway either. Its a northern thing.. words are ok, so is nipples.

In this song Emilie isnt using it as a swear word. It has its original meaning; to enjoy the pleasures of sexual intercourse. I rather normal activity I will suggest. Besides, in Scandinavia we feel less intimidated by words than weapons. Have a nice day😉
