Pastrmajlija is one of the best foods in North Macedonia and there’s no better place to try the tasty pastrmajlija than at a local place in the heart of Skopje.

We have lived all around the balkans. Macedonia doesn’t offer anything unique. Skopje has the best Mexican restaurant in the balkans, but as far as traditional food it is all very much the same as rest of balkans. Sarajevo has superior cevapi and bread, the goulash is better . Belgrade also has far better food than Macedonia in our view. Macedonia all fresh and fine but it’s just a repeat. The national dish of beans, you can get some very average ones at places. That said, best shopsko salad in balkans. Cheese is very good.

Hello Guys, you both are so fun to see how you eat and I enjoy how you enjoy :-) even that we are Macedonians we dont live there so the mouthwathering goes double for us here in the foreign lands where food has no taste :-) I would like to chalenge you to taste a dish that is very strong and not for everyone, try ,, kumanovski mezal'k,, and make a video about it, it is a traditional meal that is only made in one town ,, Kumanovo ,, in Macedonia, have fun by trying it :-)

Clearly this is only for the able bodied as this restaurant has 9 steps going down to it so impossible for a wheelchair user of which there are a sizable number in Macedonia, not forgetting tourists with mobility issues. The cost in FOTKA is wrong. That is the cost ONLY for one pastrmajlija. All u eat there, for two portions with drinks will go over 3000 denars....abt 50 eur. But every denar spent there..worth it. The best pastrmajlia ever!

The color doesn't make a difference how strong the Rakija is. Every Rakija is white and some is stronger some is weaker depends how it was prepared and from what kind of fruit was prepared (we do it from almost anything that has sugar in it, but most often plums or grape), while the Yellow one is White Rakija put in an Oak barrel for some time until it gets color
