Thought so! The panel discussions have been thoughtful and very enlightening. They have cast a spotlight on importance of good governance, secured on principles of accountability, transparency, responsiveness, equity and inclusiveness, rule of law, and efficiency in resource allocation. What has been discussed since the beginning of the year is good enough to inform on Kenya’s policy framework and strategy for economic development in the next 10 years without the need for national dialogue conventions.

Examples of getting it would be things like: 1. We're privatizing the parastatals on the NSE and getting the state's corrupting influence out of commerce. 2. We are cutting the ministries down to 10 mission critical ministries only the rest stand dissolved and their staff are to go on paid leave with immediate effect. There pay will continue for 1 year to give them time to find alternative employment. 3. We are capping maximum pay in the civil service to 3X annual per capita GDP for all state officers with immediate effect and all pay ranks must be readjusted pro-rata in line with that. 4. We are closing all state houses and lodges bar state house Nairobi, they will be put up for auction. 4. No governor or minister will be allowed more than one chase car and the president and DP will be allowed 2 chase cars each on account of their ranks. 5. All foreign travel is suspended unless it is absolutely essential for a development project and will be drawn from that budget in that event. - You get the picture. Tangible consequential measures that actually move the needle, now. That's what "getting it" looks like.

Many people today prioritize loyalty to individuals or groups they like or benefit from over standing up for what's objectively right or just. This can lead to: - Blind loyalty - Biased perspectives - Compromised values - Injustice and wrongdoing being ignored or excused It's essential to recognize that defending what's right, even if it's difficult or unpopular, is crucial for: - Upholding truth and integrity - Promoting fairness and justice - Protecting the vulnerable - Maintaining a clear conscience Let's strive to be principled and defend what's right, even when it's challenging or doesn't benefit us directly. By doing so, we can create a more just and equitable society.

I couldn't have said it better! It was very disappointing to see Edwin Sifuna retreat into a tribal cocoon when he felt isolated by ODM yet a majority of Kenyans exalt him as a national leader. Rashid Echesa castigating the president for appointing him the chairman of the Kenya Water Towers Agency Board for three years because he gets only Kes.54,000 in sitting allowance, and the board convenes only six times in a year. Rashid complained that Wetangula and Mudavadi did not follow through in getting 30% of all government appointments given to people from his community.

We have to be honest, changes usually comes gradually, it doesn't happen at a go. Even reaching where we are it took time. In a society we need one another whether you are a toddler, dinosaur, Gen z, women, men, poor, rich, very rich, very poor, religious, non-religious, etc. otherwise if we're young and force the old to go home and wait for death so that we can take charge as young ones who will advice us when we mess things up? And we know very well as youth we need also to be advised by the old so that we can have a smooth transition from young to old enough age to take over leadership. Arab spring came and we all know what happened, until now there's no stability in those countries. Responsible leadership should advice the youth on how to achieve change but without destroying the country. We can easily destroy a country by igniting the youth to go to the street and force people to vacate offices and so on an we know very well yes we'll have materials for people to watch the news, watch our stations and forgetting people will be very busy either fighting one another, trying to survive or even the tv stations might not be there. The youth might even evolve and come to you parents to force you to die so that they can inherite what ever you might have since there will be no country or job opportunities anymore. If Raila was to run again i would vote for him because he has convinced me (am not a Luo) that he's a good leader. What the Gen zs should do is to organize themselves in a political way and take over the country in 2027 democratically. Let's stop abusing leaders who have been there for long fighting for freedom in our country because everyone had a chance to become what they wanted, others became successful politicians, business men, career people, success beggers, house wives, house husbands and so on. So it's not fair to abuse politicians sometimes and we are the ones who elected them and we had choices to choose from

Let's not attribute what they are doing or saying or not doing or not saying to their misunderstanding of the people but to their conflict of interest with the people, and if the people's wishes are good, legal, and right, their wishes are bad, criminal, and wrong.

I think before Gen z protests, Ruto was already dealing with a problem with sections of mt kenya led by DP Gachagua. Ruto was desperate to find a way of neutralizing that Gachagua threat. The Gen z uprise gave him a perfect excuse to unentangle himself. In pretending to make changes to heed to Gen Zs, he actually made changes to solve the Gachagua problem. In any case, government of government unity wasnt among the issues Gen zs protested against.

CT you are hinting at a good point regarding Raila. Let me spell it out if you will humor me: Raila has ALWAYS been with a narrow base - LDP, NDP, ODM, etc. The genius of Raila is from the 90s (even earlier) he was able to advance the narrative (that Gen Z are restoring to our national conversation) while really driving his narrow based political vehicles. He coopted the national narrative started in the 1970s, of criticism of the creation of a Kenya of "10 millionaires and 10 million beggars". Then he betrayed it with the handshake. So now, the political class owns the whole mess! And that is why Gen Z - for now - is leader less. They are the only ones staying true to the narrative that is decades old.

In today's interview, Latiff appears puzzled. He asks Macharia Gaitho thrice: "But why don't they get it?" Let me attempt to answer. To Ruto and the KK in positions of authority, time is defined by how much they have looted so far, and therefore the longer the time they can buy, the better. And hence the wild promises at public rallies and on top of cars. They have absolutely no interest in solving this country's problems. But above all, this anxiety is the cause of the regime's extreme brutality in dealing with protestors, including killing very young peaceful Gen Z protestors, maimings, abductions and disappearances. They view protestors as ther mortal enemies, whose aim is to disrupt and shorten their looting party!🤣😅
