Sam Vaknin is a self-proclaimed Narcisisst! Oh the irony!!!
@sneak94072 ай бұрын
@@shabnamrafique7730 first correction: not self proclaimed. He is a diagnosed narcissists. Secondly, to catch a criminal, you need to think like one. Hence his insight into the mind of a narcissists is very much appreciated.

"Watch 'till the end!" many a common KZbinr has entreated us, but Prof. Vaknin drops a real gem at the end and didn't even warn us it would be THIS GOOD. I consider this a cliffhanger, in the best sort of way. Utterly delightful. tysm

Dear Professor Vaknin, My first comment ever. I love you here and I love you on my “other” account. I can’t thank you enough for your work, your high-level/INTEL teachings, etc... What “AND/OR” “what” would express my appreciation?! You have it all “out there”. It’s up to us to take it in. I have over a period of 5+ years as your astute student. So simply stated, Thank You! NOT to mention the fact you age like fine wine. PS: I copied & pasted your URL to the browser in my other account (to comment from there) AND received this result: “video unavailable…restricted mode…" after MULTIPLE attempts. Could be a glitch, but never experienced such a glitch before. Hope all is Kosher, and no one is playing…!

If you’ve ever had a borderline lover Vaknin’s understanding of the condition is so precise, that he recounts scenarios from the relationship like he was there for them. As crazy as cluster B’s are-they all follow the same software, they literally are like a bio-identical cyborg.

This is an excellent distinction between light and dark triad. Well explained. I have come a long way in my understanding of some complexities and can really grasp the differences in the behavior of NPD versus borderline vs internalized and externalized. How we adopt what across time. Excellent. Sam Vaknin is my go to. I have learned enough to know I've come far. Just the cusp really though. Thank you for being there every day with every topic and no qualms about it. And you're highly highly knowledgeable. Gifted really.

Cool video, My relationship of 5 years ended a month ago. The love of my life decided to leave me, I really loved him so much I can’t stop thinking about him, I’ve tried my very best to get him back in my life, but to no avail, I’m frustrated, I don’t see my life with anyone else. I’ve done my best to get rid of the thoughts of him, but I can’t, I don’t know why I’m saying this here, I really miss him and just can’t stop thinking about him

@samvaknin thank you for your reply much appreciated..I checked your channel mostly is about narcissists but very, very useful. (My husband impersonated the telegram account of the girl that he likes and sent her photos to another guy in her work to ruin her reputation because he got angry at her for disrespecting him, this is machiavellianism right? He never gets angry or shows emotions. Just react in the dark)

Can a Dark Tetrad (Pentagram) Machiavellian become aware of his manipulative tactics and just tell himself to stop and actually stop his manipulative behaviour for good without any further internal resistance/inclination to manipulate? Question 2: Could it be something like an acquired and/or a transient trait?

No. Yes, in reaction to extreme stress or CPTSD. Search the comorbidities playlist.

Is there a video someone can link about how women with BPD behave as mothers? Going through divorce with a borderline, extremely hostile toward me, we have two young children, concerned about what they will be exposed to.

You said, ‘Covert states of personality are reactive to an unrealized, unactualized ideal state.’ In psychopathy, we know that there is a biological aspect to it. In covert psychopathy, is the biology the same as in overt psychopathy? Has the covert psychopath actually failed in obtaining his goals or are the biological predispositions perhaps not as pronounced, which is why they are neither primary nor secondary psychopaths?
@samvaknin3 ай бұрын
A covert psychopath is a collapse primary or secondary psychopath.

I understand that machiavellianism has a "reserved" meaning in psychology, however I find this regrettable because this is an un-nuanced mischaracterisation of the mans life and work, at least the way it is described in the fantastic essay "Politics as Wish" by James Burnham
@samvaknin3 ай бұрын
Yes, it is a very unfortunate coinage, I agree.
@emmioglukant3 ай бұрын
I doubt most people using the term ever read the man's book, it is an excellent overview of politics and statesmanship. People appreciate the appearance of the things more than the reality. Some of people's genuine, and maybe good-natured, desires would bring about a dysfunctional society, so it inevitably becomes a pretend-play. Flaws of looking, or rather actually being, charitable is a good example from the book

Doesn't the difference between machiavellianism and psychopathy equal the difference between subclinical psychopathy and criminal psychopathy?
@pdlr222 ай бұрын
Or could it be that machiavellianism is in reality the psychopath's idealised internal self/object?
@samvaknin2 ай бұрын
Machiavellianism is a set of behavioral manipulative strategies, not a personality organization.
