Oh, hey, that's my fat ass at the end. Me and the last two guys in my boat team were trying to figure out who would live and who would die in one last glorious charge when everything happened. Thanks for making the decision easy on my part. Also, in hindsight, I should have realized that "TAKE OUT MY CARLISLE" means it's probably okay to use someone's Carlisle. I guess standing around in the sun on the parade field for an hour and a half before landing fried my brain.

Just an idea, a forced reset trigger is not classified as a fully automatic weapon by the ATF, and you can reenact a little better with machine guns if you do a little mod work, not sure of the M1919 has one though

Really great video! I am curious about the medic you landed with had a WW1 grenade vest. I know that marine shotgunners would use them to store their shells and the marine raiders who use them for their original purpose. Were they used by soldiers in the European theater? I can see that they would be useful in not only caring grenades but also, as I assume what your medic was doing, to carry medical equipment, extra ammo, and other important stuff.

Do they follow a script? Like their position and timing? Who gets "killed" or "injured"? Do they follow a chain of command? Do they practice as a group before the event? Do the reenactors buy their our ammo? Can the Germans win if they want to? Do they fire when they see an "enemy" or they just fire to show that they are in action?
@Heavy_Paladin_Battalion4 ай бұрын
I've seen them read a injury card given to them before the event that tells them if their dead or just wounded.

@AidanJ-ec3qw4 ай бұрын
This is probably the most scripted reenactment out there. As it portrays dday the Germans have to lose here. We have "phase lines" that we move up to every so minutes indicated by smoke grenades of different colors. We have a designated line to move up to over time at this event. At this event being killed or injured is either when your too tired or when you get close enough to the crowd for a show. Some other groups do the injury card but this event doesn't organize that because there isn't many medical demonstrations after the beach landing that those are used for. There IS a chain of command, world war wisdom is portraying a private in the 1st ID as a machine gun crew so he follows the orders of the machine gun crews Sargent/ squad lead who is then commanded by a 1st Sargent or platoon Sargent which is then lead by a LT or a captain which the captain takes orders from the Conneaut dday ohio organizers about when phase lines are supposed to be moved up etc which on Friday is seen as a shit show... reenactors usually always buy their own ammo. There was a blank seller there, atleast with my group and another group we practice often especially the boat landing part and do other events as well. And typically we fire for show at this event until we are close enough and then "shoot to kill" when close enough. Majority of other events is "shoot to kill" and not for show. Hope this helps -5th rangers reenactor
