Ayahuasca is a medicine. It isn't a drug and it's not recreational. It's a very humbling and sometimes painful experience. I have been in 3 ceremonies while in the jungle in Ecuador. Though I recommend it, it can be a really scary experience. He redeemed himself at the end of the story but at first it seemed like it was a joke to him. It's a very intimate experience and anyone who's reaped the benefits of it rarely share their experience as a form of entertainment. It's a form of therapy and it's beautiful.

MDMA can be fun and can work for PTSD in some circumstances but DMT is likely more therapeutic with significantly less potential for addiction and neurotoxicity.
