The first technique: you're using a walking foot but you're not steering the quilt back and forth, it seems like you are treating it like a free motion foot. Can you speak to that?

It's not free motion - that's completely different. In my book I explain the differences between both techniques with plenty of exercises to try. The video is a little sped up so it looks like I'm stiching faster than I am in real life :-)

@@ChristaQuilts thank you, I've been FMQ for 25 years and teach both FMQ and walking foot quilting, so I'm familiar. (And I have your book). I just never saw quite that technique before.
