A very neat tractor indeed. Those hydros are really handy. We have a 656 utility with a hydro that sees mostly barnyard chores, it's super handy on our feed grinder.

There was a 826 Diesel gear drive and 826 Diesel Hydro, both with the D-358 engine. The 826 Gasoline / LPG with the C-301 was only built with a Hydro transmission as an 826 with a gear drive transmission would have been almost the same as an 856 Gasoline l LPG!

We had a hydro diesel good tractor. Just have a gear drive version now. Gas vary rare. Great video.

The bet that thing is a holy fright on gas. IH Hydro's were hard enough on fuel as it was but gas...oh my

Good day I live in Ont. Canada About 15yrs ago a Allis 190 gas was sold , Ithink it use 8-9gals / hr. It figure out $18 or 19/hr just for gas Gas here is $5.45 a gal. here in Canada thanks

Hydro-static - infinitely adjustable speed, with a high and low range. It is not a powershift

Hydrostatic transmission. Works a lot like a CVT, but with hydraulic pressure. It is good for loader work and lawn cutting because you can run a set speed and don't have to shift gears. The hydrostatic transmission can be set up to slow the tractor down when you pull back on the lever.
