Nicely done Ade, just goes to show the biggest constraint in any workshop is the mind of the Engineer, in this video you have shown how to remove this constraint - Well done, well attacked & well executed. Cheers, Jon

Gday Ades, the mill does a great job, little bit of forward thinking and it’s amazing what can be achieved, thanks for sharing mate, Cheers

Thanks for the video. This is immensely helpful for what I need to do: Mill bed is 24" (609mm), part is 36" (914mm). My only problem now is to make low profile clamps since I need to machine the top of the piece with a fly cutter.

Nice work. One suggestion to speed things up would be to cut off your oversize parts with either a carbide saw, plasma cutter, abrasive disc, etc, then face to length. Slotting cut offs is a very time consuming approach.

I think they slide over fork lift tangs and the end part with the tapped holes are for keeping in place. Very nice job. The thought and preparation shows in the finish. And you have some nice offcuts😁.

Hi Ade, as always easy watching and your skill at overcoming engineering challenges with 'what you have' never ceases to amaze me. p.s I think your working on some top secret military hardware, and it, along with you will be flown out to HMS Queen Elizabeth in the dead of night because only you know how to fit it !! (proper James Bond stuff)

I'm intrigued. I just hate speculating about what it is ??? I get it if you cannot say, but it's a bugger not knowing. I am amazed at doing so thing of these dimensions on a small mill. 😎

I know a narrow boat hull when I see one, and this one just happens to double as a forklift attachment! Very sly Ade! Ha! You used every inch of your shop on this one! Just goes to show, it’s not the size of your tool, it’s how use it that counts!! Ha! Stay well!

Plasma cutting would have been the way to go, and I'm sure you could have got the price of one off your company for the time and effort you put in, plus it would have been another addition to the arsenal of tools :-)
