Aaron, I could use your help with robodrill tool settings (radius) geom and wear Trying to cut threads on G42 and it's blowing the hole out In geom I put tool diameter, and wear I put .0120 and tried -. 0120 same thing, tried to killed cutter

Sorry to hear that it's making the hole too big. there are several things that can affect this, first you have to know if the program is compensating for half the diameter of the tool or if you need to compensate for half the diameter of the tool in the geometry page. if the program is compensating for half the tool, you only need to put the geometry to zero, and then you can adjust the size of the hole with the wear. a negative value, making the hole bigger and, of course, a positive value, making the whole smaller. it sounds like the program is not compensating for half the dia of the tool which you will probably safest putting the diameter of the tool in the geometry page and then if it gives you an alarm reducing to the radius value in the geometry column. then start working on dialing in the hole size. also, the swing value of the hole in the program, if it's not compensating for half a diameter to the tool, should be the hole size - the diameter of the tool divided by 2. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qKelXnqkeNGCh80si=iVwgMG68sqtCM19c Minute 5:15 will give you an idea of what you should be looking for.

@@aaronrunk4209 Don't be sorry buddy. You don't know how to do things right with out doing them wrong. And I've done it wrong 3 times now. with geom set zero and -. 012 the machine gave me a ps0041

@@RoboDriller is your end Mill going clockwise when it's cutting the hole or counterclockwise if it's going counterclockwise using a g03 you might need to change to a g41

@@aaronrunk4209 it's clockwise with a Seco thread insert uses 17nms 12un insert. The insert cuts into the steel until the body starts friction welding. On fusion for compensation it gives you wear or inverse wear I had inverse wear on. In control I had -. 012 on that tool wear robodrill threw that code So for geometry I put the tool diameter .9764 ran the program it tried to melt my tool Changed wear to a positive .0120 Tried to melt my tool Again and was cutting hugely oversized 63/64 hole putting 1- 1/16-12 threads. That tap won't fit in my tooling so thread milling it

Hello, good news is what you're looking for is in high demand. If you live anywhere near Tulsa Oklahoma you should come see me at Tulsa Tech in Broken Arrow but if you don't live near me please try to use Google and search for CNC lathe operator near whatever town you live in and it should pull up a list of positions closest to you
