Make an adjustable plug stop just change out different length bolts for the chuck bore so you can make heavy cuts and not have to worry about material moving in the chuck?

You need a lathe burnishing tool: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gp6cdqKYe52Nfq8 Also - when the chips are stringy - increase the feed & decrease the speed. Thicken the chip to break it.
