Love this thing! A quick note... you might consider making a copper face for the hammer. Brass tends to rebound quite a bit.

I’m sorry, and this might be sacrilegious in some way, but I couldn’t use it as a tool. That would be like using the Mona Lisa as an artist's palette, I'd have to have it mounted and framed and very securely hung from a wall.

Freaking awesome video. Love how you made the copier, ingenious 👍 BTW what model/size Logan is that? I have a mini lathe (grizzly) I would like to go bigger like yours. Would be great not to take the marchine apart to change gears for threading.

Really beautiful work man, I'm in the middle of making a machinist hammer right now (which is how I found your videos searching for info) but it's not going to live up to what you made! Question though, why did you cut the thread on the end of the handle from left to right? Was it just so you didn't have to worry about stopping the auto-feed in time to keep it from crashing?

If I may ask which scotch bite wheel did you use? There so many and I don't have alot of money to do process of elimination tests.

So, it's obvious that the (3) smaktards who thumbed this down (as of 11-2018) have no clue or idea what they just viewed, if they bothered to watch the entire video. Ah, so you did make two!

Awesome hammer. What series of stainless are you machining?
@BuildFixCreate6 жыл бұрын
Thank you! This was 303 stainless. I get most of my metal as off cuts from metal supermarkets so sometimes it’s not marked what grade it is. This actually still had the number on there. If you need small pieces it’s worth checking out. They sell the off cuts by weight so it’s pretty reasonable
@eddietowers55956 жыл бұрын
Oh, cool, I’ll be checking them out, now. Specially price by weight. Thanks and thank you for sharing videos of your projects. Good luck.

Craigslist. Rusty and dirty, I took it completely apart and restored it
