Great job on the restoration/repair. I was holding my breath as you were driving the pin out with no support between the flanges, glad they didn't break on you. 😃

Thanks! I'm glad they didn't break too!

Nice job and your Logan sounds nice and tight. Not all worn out and rattling like half I see on KZbin. My Hardinge HLV-BK needs a steady and I'm thinking of using a Logan casting and adapting to suit. Maybe incorporate bearings on the fingers while I'm at it. I have the dovetail bed but shouldn't be too hard to make a base to work. Just have to keep the centers aligned.

Nice work! When I mill slots I like to plunge mill each end through then mill out the slot. sometimes I'll plunge mill the whole slot stepping over a little at a time. Just seems quicker that way.
@BuildFixCreate7 жыл бұрын
Thanks, I'll try that next time.

Another great video! You have inspired me to restore a lathe. What year and model is your Logan?
@BuildFixCreate7 жыл бұрын
Thanks Scott! You definitely should do that, its a great learning process. I think mine is a 1942 or 43 Logan model 200 which someone later retrofitted with a quick change gear box.

Great restoration! What kind of paint did you use?

Thanks! Its Rustoleum oil based enamel. Just brush it on with a small brush - lays out pretty smooth.
