Hi everyone! And welcome on board a brand new Train Cab Ride on my channel. This time a non-stop 122km ride with an empty Flirt train. But first of all I'd like to thank you all so much for joining my channel and for commenting, liking and sharing my videos. It's an honor doing this for you all. Alright then! Let's get to the ride!
0:00 Amsterdam Zaanstraat
Today we start the ride on the Zaanstraat in Amsterdam. We have a guest in Amsterdam today. It's a Flirt sprinter train. These models only run in the south of our country. NS ordered about 50 of them years ago while having a shortage on sprinters. In Amsterdam we have a washing location for trains that had a collision with living creatures. After such terrible accidents the trains must be cleaned cm by cm. And that is done here in Amsterdam.
This night the train has been cleaned and is now ready to be driven back to Eindhoven for further repairing. It's our job to make a 122km long ride.
Before we depart we ask permission from the train dispatcher Zaanstraat for departure towards departure track (1)90. This because this yard is not working with light signals and junctions set by the train dispatcher. All is done by hand and permissions for every train movement must be given by the train dispatcher via phone.
After we got the permission we are ready to bring this train towards track (1)90 on the Zaanstraat. From there we are allowed to follow up light signals for our non-stop ride.
7:56 Derailer Removed
On the track directly after the red light you can see a derailer on the track. This derailer prevents trains from entering the tracks then the signal is red. If a driver would accidentally pass the red light the train will derail before it will enter the track with possible upcoming trains. Of course this is just a final safety system. Practically never needed. :)
When our path is set the junctions will be set in the right position, the derailer will be taken of the tracks and when all is safe the light signal will give us the yellow and soon after that the green light. Now let's start our non-stop 122km ride!
9:04 Singelgrachtbrug
10:00 Train Dispatcher Building + Amsterdam Centraal
On the left the Amsterdam area train dispatchers building. After this we pass through Amsterdam over track number 6 without a platform.
15:00 Amsterdam Muiderpoort
17:06 Amsterdam Amstel
18:37 Duivendrecht
18:50 Amsterdam Bijlmer Arena
Not mentioned in the video is the track coming from the right side at Arena station. This tracks ia coming from the Diemen Zuid direction. :) Also we are brought back to 80km/h to clean some rust of the junctions after the station.
20:49 Amsterdam Holendrecht
21:41 Abcoude (Province Border) + Rien Nouwen Aquaduct
27:16 Breukelen
28:50 Maarssen (Will We Make it Up The Bridge?)
Time to get some rust off the tracks again. Back to 80km/h to clean the junctions after the station. We're now 5 minutes ahead of schedule with no trains behind us. Time for little test. Will we make it up to the Demka-bridge from here after slowing down to 80km/h already? Let's find out!
36:34 Utrecht Zuilen
Forgot to mention the 130km/h speed mark here. :)
37:24 Utrecht Centraal + Train Dispatcher Utrecht Area
On the right side the train dispatchers building for the Utrecht area.
40:43 Utrecht Vaartsche Rijn
41:34 Utrecht Zuid Aansluiting + Utrecht Lunetten
43:48 Houten
There's Sprinter running ahead of us. We must take it easy with the speed for a while. :)

46:58 Schalkwijkse Spoorbrug
49:18 Testing Train Horns
50:38 Kuilenburgse Spoorbrug (Province Border)
51:59 Culemborg
53:51 Temporary Speed Limit
Since we're already running on 40km/h we are not allowed to gain speed in the meantime. The ATB system will also show the driver 40km/h as we help. This won't be the case for the whole part of the 40km/h zone. Again: it's just a help for the driver.
58:21 Geldermalsen
Apparently again time to clean up a bit of rust from the junctions. That's why we are brought back to 80km/h. The maximum allowed speed for the junctions at this location.
