Hey guys! Hope you enjoyed this build, the scheme was definetly a challenge, however, I learnt a lot from it! As I mentioned I have some big projects lined up for the summer including; Tamiya 1/32 F16, Meng 1/48 F/A-18, Meng 1/48 F-4 and many more... see you soon guys!

Amazing job on this model and what`s really good about the channel is the fact that there are no overcomplicated solutions which allow to try the same options while making my models. Just a small hint: there is a possibility of using oil paints for making the oil stains on exhaust dust (dark colors), but also for making some panels more pronounced (lighter colors). I have tried this technique recently and I am just amazed. Finally, if you`re a fan of German aircraft, I would suggest Special Hobby Bf 109E3 1/72. Great details and a lot of possible experimentation on the camo.

thank you very much!! when it comes to using oils for certain purposes, if you watch my phantom video you can see i definitely like to muck around with them! However, for this aircraft i decided to keep it relatively clean and reduced the amount of tonal variation just so it wouldn’t conflict with the unique camo! thanks for the comment i really do appreciate it :)

Excellent job sir. The Henschel HS-129 was a formidable ground attack aircraft in WWII. It's main problem was that it was severely underpowered and it was a heavy aircraft due to it's heavy armor plating and glazing of the cockpit to protect the pilot and aircraft as much as possible. It was one of the most heavily armored of any aircraft in WWII with protective armour almost completely surrounding the pilot, engines (as much as could be done) and critical components. This allowed severely shot up aircraft from either other fighters or anti aircraft batteries, to return safely to their airfields, even in a critically crippled aircraft. There were a few German pilots who had great success with the HS129. Another problem was that the aircraft was not available in large numbers and had to be used very selectively. The aircraft assigned to North Africa were pulled after their defeat and reassigned to help in the Eastern Front war against Russia. Their they joined three other squadrons which made a total of five which was a minuscule amount to cover the large Eastern front. Again, the aircraft were used very selectively in ground attack roles, mostly against Russian tanks and mechanized vehicles, although these aircraft also attacked troop formations, trains, buildings deemed a threat such as factories, depots, ship yards, and also enemy shipping of all types from military to civilian shipping, among anything else that needed to be destroyed. These aircraft at their zenith had a 75mm auto cannon with 12 rounds of armor piercing and/or incendiary rounds. One well placed 75mm cannon round could easily take out a tank of any size produced during the entire war. The American B-25 Mitchell had a similar 75 mm autocannon, which was basically an artillery piece mounted to fuselage of the aircraft. This incredibly large cannon was mounted under the pilot in a pod that ran along the entire fuselage. The German 75mm cannon was the most powerful gun ever fitted to an aircraft during the WWII period. Pilot's reported that the recoil from the gun felt like it stopped the aircraft in flight with every round fired. Some models used a manually loading system as opposed to the auto loading cannon. This aircraft was similar to how the A-10 Warthog was made constructing the aircraft around the large gatling gun running the length of the entire fuselage underneath the pilot and it has the largest and most powerful gun ever mounted on a twin engine fighter jet up to this point in history. While the technology of the A-10 is far from secret as it was designed in the late 1960's, early 1970's, it is still valuable enough to the United States, that the USA is the only Country to have A-10 Warthog aircraft in it's arsenal for obvious reasons, and the United States forbade it's export to any nation. Some experts believe that this aircraft, the Henschel HS-129, along with several other German fighters of the time, including the Heinkel 219 "Uhu" or "Eagle Owl", Messerschmidt ME-110 through the last variant, the ME410 "Horniesse" or "Hornet", the Focke Wulf 190 (all variants), JU-88 and 188's, and the Heinkel HE-111's were all inspiration for the design of the United States' A-10 Warthog which was designed as a ground attack aircraft (Close air support aircraft) from it's design phase to it's production as a specific type of ground attack aircraft. It went on to become one of the most valuable of the U.S. Air Forces attack planes and has served with distinction in all it's fields of battle for nearly 50 years, having very minimal losses due to the A-10 having such a resilient design with multiple redundant systems allowing the aircraft to return home, even after being severely shot up, similar to the HS-129 and the American P-47 Thunderbolt which was also a formidable ground attack aircraft in it's own right, able to sustain heavy battle damage and fly home safely. The A-10, like it's predecessors in WWII suffers from slow speed compared to more advanced Mach 1+ fighters like the F-22 and F-35, although the highly technically advanced A-10 is much different than WWII aircraft and have sophisticated electronic warfare systems on-board that were never even dreamed of in WWII making it just as safe to fly in combat as the more technically advanced fighters such as the F-22 and F-35. The Warthog, like the Henschel HS-129 was actually designed to be slower which allows it to perform extensive and precise ground attack missions due to being able to attack ground targets easier at slower speeds making these aircraft perfect for the ground attack missions. In the hand of a skilled pilot, this was a true weapon of terror when it banked over into it's dive, and seeing from down below that this precision aircraft was getting ready to fire it's volley either upon you, a building by you, a truck you were driving, a train you were conducting, an open field of troop formations, or whatever else on the ground it was. Tanks were essentially DOOMED when this machine came down to release it's volley of weaponry upon you. As slow as it was compared to other aircraft of that era, Henschel HS-129 was still a very maneuverable aircraft in flight which was one of the key attributes a successful Henschel 129 pilot needed to master quickly in order to survive being an easy target to shoot down. Using this incredible maneuverability some HS-129 pilots were actually able to evade being shot down using the aircrafts maneuverability rather than speed to outwit it's enemy trying to shoot them down, similar to American dive bomber designs such as the Dauntless and Thunderbolt's being "multi-role" aircraft but great ground attack aircrafts in their own right. Many HS-129 pilots even had air to air kills in their HS 129's, which is not a role it was designed to be used for, being a specifically designed ground attack / light bomber type of aircraft. It's machine guns were not as powerful as other aircraft of the era, however, it's strength was in it's huge 75mm cannon. FANTASTIC JOB on your paint job of the aircraft. It really looks period correct and very realistic. Really nice job you did and I am looking forward to exploring the rest of your incredible model building videos. I want to get into building models of WWII era aircraft of all types as well as some of the more famous models of the early years in WW1 like The Red Baron's Red Tri-Plane which surely would be a challenge to construct but would be fun. Your attention to detail and the way you explain your models is spot on. Very informative and interesting to watch. I especially like the way you "blend in" various paint colors and the amazing way you take paint to make oil streaks behind the exhausts and other intricacies that most other model builders don't even dream about doing. You really have a talent for building life like models. They should you use for movie set construction, etc. for making models of planes. They look so life like when you are finished. It really brings the appearance of what the aircraft would have looked like back then to life, it really does. Seeing the aircraft in a 3 dimensional model is a great way to see what the aircraft really looked like since most of these aircraft no longer exist and the very few still around are in museums. None of the 865 Henschel HS-129 aircraft produced survived the war, many of which were either shot down, hit by anti-aircraft fire and destroyed/crashed, crashed during flight training and destroyed, or were destroyed intentionally to avoid allowing the allies to capture the technology at Germany's surrender. Two thumbs up sir, very nice job! Thanks for posting all your hard work for us to view. Have you constructed/painted a North American P-61 Black Widow model yet? Would love to see that. It probably wouldn't be that hard since it's a matte black paint scheme to avoid radar of that time period, but it would still need your "realism" touch. That's the key to making a model look good or look GREAT! Your look the latter........GREAT! You really have a skill making those planes look so real.

@@machmodels That would be an awesome aircraft and a direct contemporary of the Heinkel 219 as these two were the only two designed specifically for night fighting.. The P-61 Black Widow night fighter aircraft was equipped with some of the most advanced RADAR of that era. Given to an aggressive and capable pilot, along with an equally capable RADAR operator who needed to have the skills to read the cathode ray tube display of squiggly lines, those RADAR operators could make or break a sortie based on their skills to read those squiggly lines and vector the pilot to where the German aircraft were at. All in the pitch black darkness of night. The RADAR equipment and RADAR operators were invaluable to the mission successes although much of the "praises" for the missions and scores for the "victories" were usually given to the pilot. During the Vietnam war, the first Electronic Warfare Officer or "Back Seater" was awarded the title of "ACE" for his skills in downing over five enemy aircraft from the backseat of the aircraft using electronic warfare and also the aircraft's weaponry which was controlled mainly by the back seat officer, some of whom (not the majority) were trained as co-pilots, although the pilot also had the option of firing weapons from the front cockpit. The B-25 Mitchell bomber in WWII in the later variants had an incredible 18 machine guns strategically positioned all over the aircraft. At the flip of a switch in close proximity to the pilot, the pilot could take total control of all 18 guns at the same time, automatically and hydraulically moving the guns to the forward firing position so the pilot had maximum firepower in a dive bombing run and more importantly in a strafing run giving the pilot the power of 18 forward firing .50 caliber machine guns and also a .75mm auto cannon on some later models unleashing a hellfire unseen by any other aircraft during WWII. It was not only one of the most heavily armed aircraft of WWII, but of all time!

Turboprop?? As far as I know, the HS129 was powered by 2 x Gnome-Rhone 14M-4/5 14-cylinder radial engines developing 700 horsepower each 😉

Nice work! The Hasegawa 1/48 aircraft kits released in the 90s-2000 are some of my favorite kits to build esp the Japanese and German planes. They are a joy to build and produce an excellent display piece if given a little love and attention.

Hello fellow KZbin modeler! Love your channel and just subscribed. Model came out nicely. Wanted to share a recommendation with you. Try not to use high air pressure (like 25psi with acrylics). I am a former professional airbrush artist and to get super smooth finish with acrylic stick with 15 to 20psi at most. The problem is that acrylics tip dry and don't follow well so people resort to high pressure. If you see on my channel, I have a thinner mixture (that works with Vallejo or Ammo paints) that solves that problem and you will get fantastic results. It also makes the paint stronger so less issues with it being masked over. If you see my Bf-109 build, I didn't use gloves to hand the model and painted everything (including masking) in about 30 mins total.....with no paint issues. Hope this helps! And keep up the good work.
