How is the compatibility with this mod? I've seen videos that replace the CD-ROM with a SD card reader and MCBoot memory card, but apparently there are a lot of games that won't work. Really defeats the purpose of a mod if it takes a lot of money and time and ends up not playing a large chunk of the library.....
@hopperhelp12 жыл бұрын
@@SirReptitious the xstation accepts just about every ps1 game out there. The PSIO had a lot of games that couldn’t be accepted. The only exception I can think of is an NTSC not being able to accept PAL exclusive games, but that’s more of a color thing. The PS1 digital bypasses that. (At least this is what I’ve been told but have yet to test). The Memcard pro and xstation have firmware to work with each other seamlessly.

It is truly a mod for the die hard PS1 fan. And that's OK. Given the demand for the Xstation and PS1Digital kits... there are clearly plenty of diehard PS1 fans out there! Emulation is fine, in whichever route you want to go. Be it a PC, PS1 on PS3, playing them on PSP, using the playstation classic edition... there are no "wrong" ways to enjoy the PS1 games you like / love. This is a top tier, expensive solution for those who really love the PS1 and it's library. There is something to be said for seeing that original PS1 sitting there, the one you opened up on Christmas all those years ago... the one you first popped FF7 into. Playing with the original controllers. It's 100% authentic gameplay / support.... it's not for everyone. But for the big fans of the system, who have big enough wallets... it's a great setup!
