Theres people on this planet that have and continue to practice this martial art on the daily sometimes multiple times a day that’ll completely dismantle you. I suggest you give it a try sometime if you haven’t already. Also find a good gym you like where your comfortable and enjoy it. You may find yourself liking one gym more than the other.

@@CrazeeFy A lot of people find sport BJJ a joy to watch. I'm not one of them aside from the occasional highlight, but they're out there. Overly complicated is, again, subjective... and frankly a weird complaint to make. That just means it's highly-technical if you ask me. I would agree that it's not self-defense-oriented, but I don't think that every martial art has to justify itself through the lens of its value in a street fight or MMA bout. No more than, say, collegiate wrestling does. Ironically collegiate wrestling probably better equips one to deal with altercations than pure sport BJJ you could argue, but you get my point -- that's purely by chance. It's a sport at the end of the day. A lot of the guys I've trained with/talked to actually said that they found the sporty side of things a lot more fun than the self-defense part and that they couldn't give two shits about the latter. I'm the other way around, but again, everyone's interests are different. Martial arts are a personal journey. And when you get right down to it, even the most butt-scootiest, guard-pulling Blue Belt you can find could *probably* bend an untrained rando into a pretzel and/or choke them unconscious in a street fight if need be. After all, you see a lot of the sport meta and competitors transferring over into MMA right now, especially with the leg locks. Just food for thought. I'm personally a guy who favors the self-defense side of things (with a heavy emphasis on takedowns and top control) due to the work I plan on going into. If I compete in the future, it will be largely for the live practice and a bit of fun. But I think it's important to recognize that not everyone feels the same way as we do on the subject.

Reminds me of some of Fedor's early fights in Pride fighting guy's literally twice his size or larger. Only difference there was someone could have been killed. Here nothing seems to happen. I keep seeing people say Gabi took a penalty so she lost, but she never really did anything to Mackenzie so what was the penalty for? If anything that was a draw. Pretty incredible though, Mackenzie is 100lbs. lighter and a lot of Mackenzie's weight is in great looking female curves not stacked muscle. Gabi on the other hand doesn't really even resemble a female and is built like a linebacker. It's more then just size, it's a total different body construct. The fact that Mackenzie wasn't immediately flattened out and submitted shows her skill is on a whole 'nother level.
