I have heard these in person, with the eq set with the treble and mids a notch up and bass a notch down. The bass still sounded really good on that setting, which gives you an idea of how insanely loud the bass on these are. I found that the mids and treble on these are fairly natural sounding and intelligible with use of microphones, but they also go low/loud enough for DJing. Very versatile speaker.

They had a lot of bad reviews stating that their quality is not very good. I got set up 12 inch harbingers that sound really good for budget speakers and have got really good reviews, so I'm really glad that I went with them

These speakers are great " I have two Mackie thumps 15 a and use a EV 18 elx 200 subwoofer . I didn't get the Mackie subwoofer because the Ev subwoofer is lighter & imo just sound better . I have use them without any problems up to around 100 - 150 people and get so many compliments on the sound and Quality of my mobil DJ events .😎

Nice Video, My church have the QSC K10 and K12, and using K181 subs, and have a Allen and Heath QU32 Mix board pushing them those sound loud and amazing. We were thinking about getting the Mackies, but was told that using the mackie speakers would clip real quick and would not be strong enough to handle the instruments and multiple mics, but the mackie does sound good just wasn't the rite fit for our sanctuary. Down in our fellowship, they would be perfect.

Mackie Is that Deal... Just got a pair today from Sweetwater. I went to GC first to try them out @ full crank no problem. I only got these for my B Day party on 09-30-16 And the Tailgate party this week. Seeing I don't want to take my SA speakers & Subs out the basement. So happy I didn't get the Behringer B115D.

Hi Zeus, I'm planning to buy these powered speakers next week. I just want to ask if the bass is powerful enough to handle dj gigs? And is it okay without adding subwoofer? Let's just say 20-30 people
@ZEUStheDJ8 жыл бұрын
Vanfire These are perfect without a sub for house parties of up to 100 people and are good for small venues up to about 300 people with a sub or two
@VanfireOfficial8 жыл бұрын
Wow! Thanks man. Really appreciate your feedback.
@ZEUStheDJ8 жыл бұрын
Vanfire no prob! So far I've used these for a few parties, one in a small church hall with about 150 people without subs and a few house parties of about 70-100 people without subs and they worked great. Gain was in the unity position for house parties so still haven't had to crank these all the way up. The hall I had about 3/4 gain without clipping or distorting.

Mackie is consistent with packing for sure. Got a set of these at AMS. I thought mine were scuffed to. Some sort of dust on the sides that looked like scuffs. Wiped with a rag. Spotless. Definitely going to get a sub.

+Daymeon Gartrell That's cool man, how do you like them so far? I haven't even been able to test these (live in an apartment) but can't wait to use these next Saturday, video of that should be posted by Next Sunday evening.

+ZEUS the GREAT They are awesome! I think you'll love them. They do THUMP!!! I DJ as well. You will have to adjust the eq on the back to your preference. I like my sound loud and did not adhere to the recommendation. I use to have the Peavey PVXP 15s. They thumped to but with the improvements to Mackie's new Thump 15, I'm sold! They're lighter and louder. The Thump18S is next! I'm subscribed and watch most of your reviews which have been very helpful in my decisions for gear. Keep up the good work!

Let me repeat what has been said. These are great sounding speakers. Great for low volume gigging. But trying to capitalize on the bass kicks in the limiter and compresses everything.

Nah, I didn't have a chance to purchase an external mic before that gig, otherwise it would've sounded like shit.

i don't like mackies for 1 reason they reach there limit very quickly and even though they sound great at low to mid volume when you crank them up they don't sound no where near as good as the new alto ts215 there awesome great sounding speakers even at high volume levels and I have not even reach there max limit yet I cant clip them I would recommend the ts215s over mackies any day of the week

I have the SRM 450V1 which sounds great. But I played on EV ELX 112P and these speakers are great. This will be my next purchase, EV ZLX doesn't do it for me at that price. EV ELX series are the best for me, for that price.

Did you say $350 per speaker or total? The last 1000watt speakers I bought, I paid $1700 per speaker so I really have to go listen these Mackies to see if I got ripped off.

Hai, i have replacet The orginal Mackie Driver with an Eminence Delta 15a and it works very great the speaker sounds very good and the amp is also very good but the old LF driver was shit..... it is now very difficult to bring the speaker into the clipping area. The HF diver is doing a very good Job.
@georgegeorgio17518 жыл бұрын
These limit real quick , are you sure these sound loud enough?
@ZEUStheDJ8 жыл бұрын
i have only done 2 gigs with these, one a house party on new years eve (loud enough) and second a small sweet sixteen of about 100 people seated and they were loud enough. both times i had them set in the unity position. i can't really speak for anything more than that, but i can tell you that they are better than the previous 400watt models which i had taken to a medium sized banquet hall and were kind of ok for highs/mids but turnt all the way up and running 2×18" qsc subs.
@georgegeorgio17518 жыл бұрын
You should have tested the JBL EON with the volume all the way up , just because the gain is different on all the speakers you tested doesn't mean the Mackie's were more powerful, it just means they need more volume to drive them , i think you may have chosen the Thumps because they were the cheapest?
@ZEUStheDJ8 жыл бұрын
+George Georgio that was definitely why i chose the thumps otherwise i would've gone with the EV's. With the EON's you had to turn the gain to about 3/4 the way just to match the Thumps and EV's
@ZEUStheDJ8 жыл бұрын
+ZEUS the DJ price and deeper bass of the 3 so not much need for subs unless doing bigger events which i don't normally do.
@georgegeorgio17518 жыл бұрын
Again as i said you have to level match different models from different manufacturers, i've tried the Mackies and coming from the world of FBT's and Yamaha the Mackies are a Joke they limit so easily imo.

How did your gig go. I have footage from a gig I did. Could use some input.. Not sure how to load video on here for everyone to hear...
@ZEUStheDJ6 жыл бұрын
Thomas Stewart I went really well. Loud enough for the party without the use of subs. I didn’t upload video because sound tests on video is kind of pointless as people don’t get the full effect, but just upload in your KZbin app or by logging in on KZbin on your laptop/computer. It would be cool to see people’s reactions at least! ;)

Wait, you compare speakers based off where you run the gain knob? What a poor comparison. While it is known that the new EONs don't get that loud, the knob shouldn't be the indicator of that. Electronics can work differently, which can cause a difference in knob settings. All that matters is how loud they get, how good they sound, and how little distortion they have at significant volume.
@ZEUStheDJ8 жыл бұрын
What i was saying was that all three at the unity position (marker on the knob) that the JBL's weren't as loud as the Mackie or EV's. I wasn't saying that the JBL's weren't good because of this. The reason for picking the Mackies was the deeper bass and no need for a sub with smaller events (which is what i mostly do, other than club gigs which already provide sound, etc). And, also the price. Sound quality would go to the EV's of the three, but was lacking bass in exchange for clarity and would have definitely needed to add a sub to that.
@Azpry8 жыл бұрын
+ZEUS the DJ The EONs don't have a unity marking, which also doesn't really make sense in the context of an speaker level amplifier. The goal at the speakers is to use (or be able to use) all the power in the amps, so to have a "unity" point doesn't make sense. Most amp control knobs aren't even gain knobs, which further discredits a unity marking.

would you recommend these over sound quality and build quality over the jbl eon 615s? Im in the market for pa's around 400 ea. Thanks!
@ZEUStheDJ8 жыл бұрын
As far as clarity goes I think the JBL's are better in high and mid range
@Inferno776658 жыл бұрын
Thats good to hear. I currently use the harbinger m120, a very very low end pa system for very simple events, and am looking to get a more serious setup. I think the jbl's will blow them away no question.

how do these speakers sound when turned up really loud when compared to the EV and do these get as loud as the EV?
@ZEUStheDJ8 жыл бұрын
+AcidicProductionsHD When I demo'd both these and the EV's the Ev's sounded a lot more clear, but these definitely have more bass. I wasn't able to push these to the max in store so I can't speak for the EV's... So far, I've used these for 2 gigs and haven't really had the need to go past the middle mark on the gain and they are loud enough for small halls without a sub

@georgejacob85266 жыл бұрын
Victor Bautista Grandel this speaker is light weight compared to other 15 inch models in This level, and this is not a rechargeable portable speaker , if your thinking of taking this to a cookout whether if it’s at a park, beach etc, there has to be a outlet near by or carry your own generator . But it’s a great speaker overall , gets plenty loud for small and medium events .

@ZEUStheDJ9 жыл бұрын
+elchic0temido do you have the 18" mackie? that should be enough but for medium sized hall i would suggest having 2 subs up front, two 15's on top of subs and then daisy chain to the two front/top 15's to side 15's (left and right)

@ZUES the DJ...thanks for the vid bro, quick question, are there any fly points on these speakers? I have had these speakers for about a good year now and have done many weddings and just did a daddy daughter dance of 400 in a reception hall, filled the hall well without a sub, but am entertaining a sub, just was trying to minimize my gear to be more mobile, I can comfortably load all my equipment in my car...the reason I was asking about fly points, was in regarding mounting some lights, if they don't have them then I will have to resort to a plan b. Thanks for your imput!
