Hi Man! I appreciate your work so much .. i have a Mackie Thump 15a with a new problem: the overload red led is always on, as soon I power up the speaker, no sound coming out.. only a strange sound - high freq sound (like frying) - coming from the filter of the AC power input, right after the on/off switch. Any ideas? Maybe we can take out another useful video about that :D Thanks for your time

I would have gone with the original woofer model because these are usually used in pairs and I would want them to match.

Hello all, I was asked to repair one of these units (time serviced electronics tech)...the one that landed on my bench had a input board problem, I ended up giving it back as the owner wanted me to tell her what parts to buy and show how to fit it.. You might be able to get replacement from mackie as a long shot..

I need to repair a Shure Receiver BLX4R and I'm having trouble removing the cover. I have removed the screws from the cover and the face plate, but it appears the cover and face plate are connected internally at the centre of the face plate on the top. I can not workout how to separate them, do you know how to open it?

Thank you for this video. Very helpful.I hope you have video of jbl eon 518s because I got one which doesn’t work. I checked the woofer with 9v battery and it make some noise meaning the woofer is still good. Checked fuses they are fine too. When plug in and power light is on. Connected it from mixer green light turns too but it wont make any sound at all. Thank you.

I have one of them with dead woofer here, of course there is no way to find original woofer. The real problem is, that this PA has FPGA with audio codec on the input that is programmed to shape EQ input in the way, that compensates for driver non-linearity. (common practrice on the modern PA systems). So putting anything else in wil likely sound off.

@@feedback-loop Out of stock man! About overestimation, it is common practice to use tuned EQ to get away with cheaper speaker and enclosure.

I'm a repairs tech and repair have worked on mackie units... The v2 is the smpa type and you need to know how the psu works before working on these. These amplifiers contain high voltages that will shock!

Unless you know how to repair these units... Be careful of them voltage lines in there... These v2 are not for the novice

It is important to put the original woofer back in the Mackie Thump because the Thiele small parameters must match to get original performance. Just selecting any 12" woofer is not the way to do it.

You are right in saying original replacement is the best..but Mackie is prof. audio gear and is not T.S.P. certified... nowhere in their data any mention found..

+1 The bench test unit has a foam surround that explains the far lower efficiency, so it wouldn't match the tweeter either.

Interesting video my friend . I pretty sure the speaker was replaced. Because mackie make there own drivers. Never saw Eminence speaker in a mackie . Comment me if I’m wrong.
