I so enjoyed the videos on Mackinaw Island. We live in Michigan and have some very fond memories of the island but I never saw it from a gardeners point of view. It was a delight and makes me want to spend some time there soon.

My parents went there on their honeymoon. Stayed in the Iriquois Inn. My dad, never been on a horse in his life, lunch time the horse dumped him & headed for the barn. Totaly wrecked a 35mm hand crank camrea (1960s early camcorder). They used to take us kids there every year. Went there one month after Somewhere In Time cast wrapped up filming & didn't know it 'til the movie came out.

Amazing on how deep the gardens go behind the cottages. We have walked both bluffs but you can't see the magnificent gardens tucked away, absolutely stunning.

Just returned from Mackinaw Island. It is a beautiful place and the flowers are beautiful. I have trouble walking and didn't realize how difficult it would be to get a taxi (horse and buggy). Out of 3 calls they showed up once. Stayed at the Harbour View Inn (439.00/1 night). It's a B & B and was very nice. If you go, make sure you have cash. Taxis don't take credit cards and a lot of tipping is suggested. Other than that, glad we went but would rather spend my money somewhere else.

First - Thank you for showing off our Mackinac Island! Question, what is the plant you touched at around 03:52, the tall yellow flowers with the dark base, surrounding a bird bath?
@Carols643 жыл бұрын

So does the garden match the house when the house was built?
@ProvenWinnersYouTube5 жыл бұрын
Some plants mimic ones that were popular then, but many other plants are used to add color and easy beauty to these large spaces.
