Unfortunately, most people can’t afford to stay at the Grand Hotel unless you can get some special discounts. I used to visit the Island every summer back in the 50’s and 60’s because my father was friends with the manager of the Grand Hotel pool. He would arrange for lodging at one of the special B&B’s for our family. I love the Island, the gardens, horses and atmosphere! A very special place.

Loved your tour and was wondering why they don’t have more of the blue hydrangeas!??? On the northeast coast they are everywhere! Perhaps it’s the salty air? Such gorgeous gardens of color, and especially loved the secret garden! I’ve moved off the coast and have landed in NH- my first summer into fall & winter- big observation and note taking for sure!!! Of course I planted tons of perennials for next year- my take away from this tour is the grasses popping out amongst the flowers- surprisingly I loved them! Thank you! Cindy B-

Jack said in another video the winters are very harsh. They're a zone 4 or 5. I'm in Minneapolis and can attest to the harsh winters wreaking havoc on plants that are borderline. I planted, my 2nd round, of blue hydrangea (Bloomstruck) and fingers crossed they make it next year.

Jenny, How do they keep the Cosmos so short? Is it the variety? Mine reach 5’ and taller but I would prefer they be shorter. Can they be cut back? One variety I tried this year is 7’ and taller. It’s stalk is like the diameter of a corn stalk and hollow. I don’t think that would cut back well. I definitely will not be reaching for that seed packet next year!
